Lets Do This

We're going to build an exact copy of Ponyville... right over there! We've got less than a minute!

E

Celestia has a problem: a precocious baby dragon who keeps wandering off. And all the kindness and understanding of a Princess can't help... because she's not the one Spike's looking for.

Now has a very cool reading, provided by StraightToThePointStudio.

Also has a Chinese translation, courtesy of user Dashwhite.

Thanks, everypony, for your interest in this story and your kind support!

Would she technically be his father?

How old is Spikey in this story?

Not the mama 2.0, because Dinosaurs are Dragons!

It's always weird to see that show and its cute dinosaur-sitcom gags brought up, after knowing that it ends with everyone slowly dying.

10953857
I'm not sure that's really a spoiler, seeing as everyone knows what happened to the dinosaurs.

10953619
Makes sense why she's trying so hard to be with him now.

When a sufficient burst of magic meets the egg...

It's just really weird to me that a family-friendly comedy like that actually showed the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Aw, that was precious.

Awwww. Ok, this was adorable enough. It passed! It passed!

This is super cute and a nice drive into Spike’s view and thought process at such a young age despite being so smart.
A really nice read

Yes, I saw this story in the featured list. Thought it a cute premise. I really enjoyed it actually. Thanks for the treat.:moustache:

Cute story, maybe a bit rushed and got to the point a bit too fast, if that makes sense? :twilightblush: But, I enjoyed it!

This is just oh so dang cute! Kinda interesting to think about the stuff that happened during that period of time back then, and this does it in super well! Hope ya didn't mind, but I just had to make a reading of this fic of yours!

Very cool! And thanks so much -- I really appreciate the effort you put into these readings!

Technically it didn't. It just showed the events leading up to the extinction taking place.

The same as in canon.
Only he gets a head start compared to ponies as he did a LOT of growing in the egg and so hatches capable of talking.

Read a lot of nice and seen comics on the comic. Fav comic is one where during mother's day Twilight encourages Spike to give Twilight Velvet a mother's day card he made, bit he won't do it. Then Velvet realizes he doesn't see her as his mom, and has spike give it to Twilight like he wanted.
Best fic is Small Scale, where a dragoness sees Spike one day and forcefully "adopts" him. Won't spoil it but handles the mommy issue in an interesting way. Bonus points for implications between Celestia and Bahamut dragon God.

Which comic is that the one you are talking about?. I want to read it

You were talking with those fancy-schmancy noble-ponies again. And every time they looked at me, it was the whole Awwww... he's so cute! thing. I mean, barf-ola! I'm a dragon!

Could be worse, Spike.
In many other stories they see you as a feral beast which needs to be locked away.

Maybe one day I'll be an ambassador from ponies to the Dragonlands. Heck, maybe I'll even rule the Dragonlands someday!

Good luck with that!

"Twilight Sparkle?" Spike asked, his eyes widening. "Oh yeah! I knew I'd seen you somewhere before! You busted me out of my egg, remember?"
"What?" Twilight stared at him. "You're that baby dragon?" She smiled. "Wow! Glad I could help!"

I had seem many variants of Spike being raised, but not having properly met Twilight at this point is a new one.
Also:
:moustache:: "Yeah, thanks for that. The egg was kinda cramped."

Good story!
I enjoyed reading it.

Suggestion:
If you need a horizontal line (like between scenes) use the [hr] command.

Many thanks for the detailed feedback, it's appreciated!

Well... he did have his claws on the Bloodstone scepter, at least for few moments. And if Ember ever decided to abdicate, she'd know where a trustworthy dragon can be found...

Yeah, the whole idea of Twilight raising an infant dragon when she's just barely a grown filly herself never struck me as realistic. This felt like a more reasonable approach -- though that's just my headcanon on it.

Good story!
I enjoyed reading it.

Many thanks -- I always try my best, but hearing from satisfied readers is writers' fuel!

Thanks for the tip -- I do know the markup exists, I just don't like the look of it. It's a little too jarring as a break between scenes, so I do my own break markers instead.
