Double Diamond is a very special kind of pony. He's a frost-kin, a fairy that acts as a kind of guardian spirit to little children who get lost in blizzards. Of course, Starlight Glimmer didn't know that when she took his cutie mark.
It's been a week since Starlight Glimmer was kicked out of her little village, and Double Diamond got back all the things that made him himself. Like most of the ponies from the village, he's been spending this time reconnecting with who he is. And he's just remembered something very important to him.
Or rather, somepony.

This was very cute! I really enjoyed how Blueblood's dialogue flowed. Is there any chance these frost-kin will make an appearance in other stories? They're pretty interesting stuff and I can't say I've seen anything like them before. This was a rare pair that I'm certainly glad happened. The more on this site, the better.
Also a frost-kin sounds almost like an otherkin.

A fascinating concept and an indisputably unusual couple. Blueblood reciting the memory feels a bit weird at first, but aside from that, this flows very well. Thank you for it, and best of luck in the judging.

This was different. I like that you made Blueblood different from his show self, but you still caught the kinda royal snob in him a bit still. It’s hard to explain. I guess to put it simply you took some of the worst things about him and made him look good with them. If that makes sense. I kinda also like the idea of Double Diamond being this frost-kin. usually I’m not a fan of Blueblood but this was a nice story for him.
I should read more Bluebloodand Double Diamond stories.
