So... after gleaning nothing from the story itself... what is this a crossover of, exactly?
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone that read this story or gave it a thumbs up. I must admit that I was reluctant to so start writing about ponies (it just seemed weird somehow, as much as I like the series), after the overwhelming response that is the three comments above, I might just continue.
718268 Although I don't expect a lot of people to realise what crossover this is, make no mistake, it is most definitely a crossover. This piece is also a multi-level experiment of mine: first, experimenting with pony-related writing, and second, I want to see who 'gets' the crossover. This story is based on a quite old video game series that never got the attention that it, in my opinion, deserved. I know it has a small but devoted fanbase and I'm curious as to wether there are bronies on this site that are also fans of this series. I'm hopeful that I won't be the one that says its name first.
For what it's worth, not knowing anything about the other story beforehand might even make for a more interesting reading.
That's.... Hmmm... Wow. Not even sure how I feel about that. I really hope you are going to eventually tell us what the crossover is with.

But... Doesn't Twilight find this a bit strange that she has to kill all her friends to so-called purify the elements? And does she even consider that she might be the first to be corrupt and is going insane seeing twisted visions of the Princess and her friends. Maybe she could simply gather her friends and call off the ownership of the elements...

Damn , ponies and Blood Omen. By chapter 2 I ended up reading Twilight's inner monologue and dialogue entirely in Simon Callahan's voice, which fits far too well for my liking. Keep up the good work.

..although, I do believe he's called Simon Templeman, not Callahan. I've never even heard that name.

...And I have no idea how to post as a response. To JawJoe, Simon Templeman is also credited as Simon Callahan on some projects, due to the nature of voice acting unions. So I would guess both names are correct depending on the title he's in.

954117 Spoiler to those that haven't read up to the latest chapter: So far, Applejack turned into a mindless beast, Fluttershy decided to kill in fear of her own death, and Rarity became a sexual predator and slave-keeper.
Not sure why this fic doesn't have more popularity. It's pretty damn intense. Every chapter I read is uniquely satisfying.

All I have to say is dang, Twilight. Consider the consequences of who you killed on the spot! Had she not been so quick to kill Candace, Shining Armor could have held the shield better than Loon Moon. Had she not been so quick to kill Fluttershy and finished the negotiations with the dragons, stronger aerial support. The same thing with Rarity, she could have used the diamond dogs and maybe get Spike on her s.
I hope Twilight never rules a country.

Just a question are you binding all the Legacy of Kain mythos into this one story? Or are you going to move on to the Soul Reaver series seperatly?

Maybe I'm looking too deep into this. Anyway, Interesting story here. I love me some grimdark, though any mention of genocide makes me feel a bit sick. In an 'omg, I'm caring for this' kind of way, if that makes any sense.

Short chapter today. This is to get everything in place for the finale. I tried not to drag it out, but still tie everything together by the end. Let's hope it'll work out. I fear I may have bitten off more than I can chew, though..

1390256. Oh that it just cruel. I figured it out, but only because I read this hint. Also not a fan of ending at this spot; I'd prefer it if you had done an epilogue, but that's just a personal preference. Definitely great for a first fic, and I'm looking forward to more of Night Shift.
That was interesting. Though familiarity with the plot of Blood Omen resulted in guessing what's going to happen next. Oh, and I kept expecting appearance of the equivalent of Soul Reaver. But I don't know what it purpose could it served in this tale.
