HAhahahaha
It needs to be a virgin sacrifice though. Too bad they're fresh out of those.
Silly Teapot, this is the best plan!
Legitimate misgivings and mixed feelings aside.
Maledico unknowingly makes a joke about Pebble.
And of course, Helianthus' origin was both simpler and more narratively appropriate than I imagined. Well done.
And that was how Pebble was made.
Muhaha loved this chapter.
Bad Kudzu! Stop killing/hurting/maiming characters in your stories! Stop channeling George R. R. Martin!
Hahahaha!
Well... that's one way to do things
Fronky fronk what a fun word. Hey Fluttershy, what does fronk mean?
7672949
- It's a portmanteau of fuck and pronk! STOP SAYING IT! IT'S SO DIRTY!
- Sorry, I was loud.
7672943
What I do?
And that was how Pebble was made.
7672949 hey, you watch your fronking mouth.
Well now... Well well well, now...
I've little else to say, save that I am in suspense most intense.
7672959
From Pebble's own mouth.
7672954
Let's see... Helianthus returned to her source. Lemon Hearts got bonked and is now all wobbly. Trixie took a war to the eyeball (I guess). The current team is broken and battered and bloody. (Future) Vinyl has a broken/injured spine. Octavia pissed herself. Sumac is dealing with an overwhelming amount of emotions. Maledico is about to go bye-bye. And Pebble has now realized that Sumac is willing and able to tickle her (and she'll probably need therapy for that). And finally there's mysterious-rival-of-Tarnished-who-we-all-assume-is-Starlight-Glimmer and what they did to the diamond dogs.
(Ya know, now that I think about it, I'm surprised we haven't had more fatalities through all of the Weedverse.)
(and yes, this whole diatribe has been tongue in cheek. Things have really been heating up over the last few months and it's definitely been exciting.)
And that´s how Tarnished and Maud´s sex life ended...
Maud: Sorry, Tarnished...it´s not working....after you gave me the orgasm of a life time nothing else compares...
Tarnished: Oh, come on, it´s not like i can find another world-level corruption artifact everytime we make love...
Discord: Here, take that ring...after that one I have 9 more fromt he humans, 7 from the dwarfs and three more from the elves...it should be enough for you for a while...happy sex times for you two !
T: What....what was that ?
M: Don´t know. Don´t care. Break this ring and fronk me silly again.
This makes me sad. I can hope, that as she ages, she can learn to slow down.
So that explains Helianthus. She was a piece of Celestia and became her own person.
That conversation about the creation of the grove and new life is all kinds of awkward.
7672981
So technically Maud was telling the truth, from a certain point of view.
7672951
Pinkie Pie does it on the bounce.
(Heinlein's Ghost, I'm so sorry.)

I dont think Celestia is giving Twilight enough credit. A few more books and she will be running that place I bet.
Dohohohoho
I'm not sure that I'd bet on Twilight never doing something. She does like to make things complicated to understand them rather than make a leap of faith
7673424
This is true.
It is also true that characters are made more well rounded by having character appropriate flaws.
In this continuity, most unicorns can't make the leap. Most ponies can't make the leap, as it is possible for pegasus ponies and earth ponies to visit the astral plane. So Twilight actually has something in common with regular, garden variety ponies.
Now, for Cadance, as shown in other places, she has a piece of Celestia's soul, so she already has an astral connection, and Luna knows the ancient magics. Everything is nice and copacetic.
7673434 Indeed characters that aren't prefect are much more interesting. Now how long it will take for Twilight to make such a leap is another question
Protip: The Fellowship was dumb
Freaking druids
Fronkageddon.
We drop a Pebble in the lake and watch the ripples roll out.
7673020
7673496 At least they got rid of the Ring of Power. No wait wrong story here.
PLOT TWIST
7672951
Well, while not exactly what I predicted, close enough for me to be excited that my guess was close. Significantly sadder than being a simple Simulacrum. Poor Helianthus
7675444
Yes, but all of those things had to have a melting point. I don't think combining things does more than average out the melting point. I'll admittedly have to do more in-depth research, but this is, to the extent of my current knowledge, not how science works. And again, granted 'magic'.
7677769
Whilst thermosetting metals are to my knowledge merely the work of fiction, we do have thermosetting plastic. In that you can heat it, mold it and cast it, but once it sets, it no longer melts but instead will simply get hotter and hotter until it burns. So the concept isn't as far fetched as you may think.
7680129
There are metals and ceramics like this as well. Heat them up enough and the molecular bonds release and they turn into gas. But they do not have a soft or liquid state.
7680181
I think we are focusing on fundamentally different things. What you are describing is sublimation, in which a compound will immediately go from a solid state to a gas state. The difference is, you can cool a sublime compound and it will retain it's original properties. It only undergoes a phase change. What I was referring to was when a mixture or compound undergoes an irreversible chemical change after application of radiation, thermal or otherwise.
7680238
But this was the basis of centaur steel, which is a type of ceramic-steel alloy. If Celestia was to heat it up to the temperature of the sun, it would just vanish, but it won't melt. It is also the reason why it appears to be orange, like copper.
7680129
7680181
Well, that's interesting. I wouldn't have guessed that was a possibility.
It's also kind of scary. There's a lot of metallic elements that would be horrible weaponized in this way. Mercury, for deadly poison. Magnesium, lithium, sodium, potassium, and caesium, which may react with the dampness of one's lungs and literally set one's respiratory system on fire.
And that's how Pebble was made.
Edit: Crap! 2 others already beat me to it.
*sigh* Celly you are a terrible teacher. I can think of three ways at least to simplify this enough to make the jump.
A) Auto-Hypnosis or Duel focus Meditation. Having a subject focus on something like prime numbers or work.
B) Drugs. Just Drugs.
C) Trying to make the jump in the dreamscape or at least having someone pull her along the first time.
I really don't like the idea of saying someone can't learn something as long as they don't have a physical developmental problem and they have a willingness to learn there should be some way to teach someone.
7683465
You ever tried to fall asleep? I don't mean just closing your eyes and letting nature take over, I mean mentally willing yourself to sleep? You almost certainly can't do it. The more you try to think about falling asleep the harder it is to do. Yet it's quite easy to doze off without even realizing it. I imagine entering the astral realm is quite similar. She can't do it because she's too busy overthinking it.
Tarnished likened it to being as easy as breathing. No one can really teach you to breathe it's just something you do. Besides, I doubt Celestia would consider drugging or hypnotising her student an ethical teaching method, not to mention it probably isn't possible to reach the correct state of being through those means, else someone would have figured it out and the astral realm would have been chock-a-block with drugged out ponies.
The plan to save the world involves Tarnish banging Maud. Of course it does.
7693558 Much like any good plan it contains a healthy amount of fucking.
7684606
I do it all the time. Of course, I'm also narcoleptic, so there's that, but...
Not what I expected, but then, this is that kind of story.
In the words of Brom, nothing beats a woman after a good fight
Yep.
I was pretty certain it would be Maledico, (though that's partly from cheating, having read the later books before this.)
My other guesses were Flamingo, then Helianthus, and it's looking like I may be sorta right on those counts as well.
So there was some grain of truth to how Pebble was born
