Yes, because friendship is totally worth more than power. I totally wouldn't sell my brothers soul for magic... although in this world friendship is magic so my just maybe I wold consider the thought.

Just wish for enough power that you can kick the ass of who or whatever you sold his soul to to get it back. everyone wins.
7449701 Exactly! Just the demented way of thinking that I enjoy.
I know what it says.
Nice chapter.
So he turned away what was basically "The One Ring" and gave it to someone else. Says quite abit about his character.
7449751 Let us hope it ain't the one ring. Else basicalyl a dj gandalf just got it
7449751
Not exactly the One Ring.
It is a ring of Elemental Authority, attuned specifically to fire. While it does boost fire magic a great deal, it is more of a powerful defensive item, granting the wearer total fire immunity.
huh so he's starting to be tempted by power... let's see where this takes us
7449802
I just imagined Saxophone Gandalf when I read 'DJ Gandalf'.
7449914 not so much that I think, more likely there was compulsion spell or the like that came along when he accepted the duty of protecting the horn ring

I feel like that's the name of a minor artifact from D&D, but it instead could command djinni?
Interesting. It's always fascinating to see differences in culture, even if it is magical pony culture. I wonder how other species or cultures in the world would react to it?
So, the artifact was a ring that only grants power proportional to the power of the unicorn wearing it, if I'm getting this correctly? If that's the case, it certainly would be a force multiplier, but I do wonder if it is just acting more as a amplifier, or if the ring itself has a a fixed amount of power that is only made available to wearers based on their understanding of magic or their innate magical power? Possibly a combination of both?
Eh, regardless, another interesting chapter, and I'm honestly kind of glad Tarnish isn't getting some artifact of power. He's already go the lovely possibly brainwashing blue orb (I'm not convinced it doesn't have its own intentions that may not align with what is good for Tarnish) that's teaching him an entirely forgotten sect of powerful, if difficult to control, magic, and I think giving him some ring of power, while it could work, would more than likely derail his character arc of slowly gaining skill in his own anomalous magic,

The ring is attuned to fire.
Tarnish is attuned to water.
If he wore the ring, not much would happen. He'd be able to light candles with effortless ease though.

Well, technically it's:
7451018
Ahh, I would have written it, but my Black Speech is a bit rusty as of late.
I need more sessons with dear Gandalf.
7451034
I learned from someone else: Go'ogle of the Many Colors.
7451171
That made me laugh harder then it should have.
7450091
Waited 30 Minutes to get this to load...
I was not disappointed
HE promised to keep the ring safe. I hope his generosity does not come back to bite him.
7460144
Can he keep it safe from himself?
Do not tempt me! I would try to use the ring for good...

Look, no casting Sean Bean as Teapot. 9 times out of 10 it's a spoiler, and I don't want Teapot dying this soon.

One could torment Celestia all they wanted and she could never fry them, lol.
in most human cultures its a profound insult to dance apon a grave...interesting.
