The sex tag worries me. Any warnings?

6800608 It's got to be rated M for something mate.

6800707
I've seen stories rated M for just their dark undertones. I keep the mature filter off, because a lot of Fallout: Equestria stories are M rated, along with some other great stories here. I just was asking him when to skip and where to skip to.

6800728
6800707 It's rated M mostly because of the possible outcomes of the story, and also on a side note, because of the dark undertone - international traffic, black market, drugs, etc.

6800728 Oh, alright. That's understandable. Although, don't you think this would be "dark" "gore" or something else if it was rated M for that?

6800740
Okay, I will feel a bit better having this in vy favorite box.

6800762
Let's look at video games for a minute here. Battlefield 4 has an ESRB rating of 17+ for "intense violence, strong language and blood and gore."
Even if it doesn't have gore, as Pedro Hander said in response to a different comment of mine, this is rated M for

international traffic, black market, drugs, etc.

While this doesn't have gore or sex, I believe thatß worth an M.

6800790 I see. It's a lot simpler on e621, although it'd never be THAT simple with multiple stories.

This is an interesting one, I'll give it a read asap!

6800829 On E621?

Porn.

Lots of it.

6800829 e621.net is a website where you can share art. Drawings, animations, and even flash games. They have a very simple rating system. S, Q, and E. S means safe, you don't need to worry about viewing it because it won't include genitalia, blood and guts, or anything of the like. Q means questionable, it looks rather strange what's going on, or maybe some dialogue isn't very "safe" for public. E means explicit, anything with E has genitalia, sex, gore, killing, or extreme violence. It isn't that simple on fimfiction, but it'd be nice if it was.

Fleur de lis hunting humans??
Noice

termonuclear

I read that several times trying to figure out what termonuclear means but then I realised you're missing the 'h'. Thermonuclear.

6801057
It could never be that simple because you can judge how "safe" art and videos are by what you see and hear, but stories here can have much more depth than any flash game could. Because of that it needs to be a bit more complex.

6802054 Oh, shit. Thanks for pointing that out! :rainbowlaugh:

6802086 I know, I understand that stories could never be as simple.

So I finally gave it a read, after my 12 or so comments to clarify a few things, and, well I am enjoying so far. You said not everything should make sense right now, so here is what I picked up;
(Spoilers for chapter Lilac Wine)
Daniel Graff, our protagonist, is a human in Lower Canterlot, which is where all the lowlifes, drug addicts and poor people live, with a higher crime rate. Daniel fled Earth due to some war or something, and went to Equestria. His bar tender/possible aquantiance is likely a part of some criminal activity. He is targeted by Fleur de Lis, who wanted him dead, and is probably working for someone, the mafia or something. Her estate is blown up and her trap to, quote "Eliminate" Daniel Graff ends in failure, along with her cover being possibly blown.
This is an interesting story, I look forward to more. These comments also help me get my thoughts of the chapter together, so I will continue them. Hopefully this can also spur some discussion down here.

So in the last chapter, I typed up a summary of key events to help me put my thoughts in order, and I will continue here.
Spoilers for chapter 'This Calls for a Toast.'
Daniel's father, who we can assume is dead, owned a company called Borealis. They tried to supply both sides of a war, which lead to the company's downfall. I assume that one of the leader's of the sides of the war found out he was doing that and was not happy, so they offed him. During the war, Daniel was the 'bad guy' so he made sure to lay low. It seems that Daniel has attempted to bury his past and cut ties with Borealis. It appears to me that that is the reason he was targeted. A name change is likely, maybe even reconstructive surgery. In his early years, Daniel was on a short leash, with the whole war. He had to wear a collar carrying some encrypted data, and his mother told him he would be 'contaminated' if he removed it. It was probably some lie that adults tell their kids to get them to behave. As for the data on the collar, I have no idea. It may be some secret project his father is working on, or some sort of tracking device. Daniel's parents were split up either due to relationship tensions or his dad's position of what I assume is CEO of Borealis. Or both. Daniel could not go back to his home in Waterbury. I can only assume that the war has begun to ravage that place too. His mother killed herself because of the stress put on by Borealis and the war.
So not a long chapter, but so full of information crucial to the story. Even so I feel like I am left with more questions than answers. This is truly deep and involving my critical thinking more than other stories on this site. Good job, Pedro. I feel like I need to know more about the events surrounding our character's life and some motives for why his 'pony companion' at this time wants what they tried to do to our protagonist. Great chapter.

6824824 Your interpretation is fantastic. Comments like yours make me want to go further. :ajsmug:

6824876
Thank you. This story is so complex that this is the best way for me to keep up with it. I try to answer the questions you hide in this story with the information given, and this helps paint a clearer picture for me. I hope the same is true for everyone else, too, and I hope to God that nobody reads what is under the spoiler bars before they read the associated chapter.

Wow, to see a scene like that as a Child, poor guy must be pretty emotinaly wounded.

So the borealis program was making nukes ... And some went off starting conflict...
This is why we can't have nice things ... Stupid humanity and their insane quest to destroy anything and everything just to prove we got the bigger wang

One should give humanity a chance, but keep a VERY Close Eye on it, sure there are plenty of morons that would love to mess up the World, or rather in this case WORLDS, but there are just as many that would fight them every step on the way.

Wow, talk about having the weight of the World on his shoulders.....or rather neck in this case.

So I missed this chapter when it came out. I will still do the analysis for this chapter.
Spoilers for chapter 'The Weight we Carry.'
Fleur de Lis is speaking with someone, most likely a pony, about wanting to meet Daniel Graff, and given how she said "meet" it is probable that this first little bit of the chapter takes place before the entirety of the first chapter. Whoever she is speaking with may be her employer for some sort of organized crime, given how he can "find anyone," but it appears Fleur has something against Daniel, and her little stunt was more of a personal vendetta. Borealis had, in Fluer's own words, spread like a virus through Lower Canterlot, leaving only a carcass when it moved out," so naturally, everyone assumed the Graff family had fled the city. Fleur believes that Borealis in Equestria is merely hibernating, and Daniel is the key to its second coming again. This was her main motive for the attempted assassination of Daniel Graff. There may have been others, but this is the big one. Now, a person is on a subway owned by Borealis to their main HQ. Given the fact that it is in first person, it is probably Daniel. Daniel lives in the old HQ of Borealis when they were in Equestria, keeps it running and makes sure nobody and nopony finds it, as if they would even check there anyway. Daniel has received a transmission from a Borealis representative telling Daniel that he is the only one who can save the company. Daniel can mold the company into a symbol of peace and advancemwnt for human and pony kind. But he'd rather die than risk a repeat of what happened. Daniel has lost all faith in fellow humans, given that his parents were responsible for a war of worlds.
Woah. This chapter answered many questions. We have the motive, the means. We still have a while before everything is said and done, and I hope to see more development of Daniel. The whole "humans are evil" ideology Daniel has seems to be skewed through his experiences with them, however.

Give or take Equestria's got at least 60 years before Fallout

6856431 That's always a creepy possibility...

6856323 Now I'm really looking forward to know what you're gonna think about 'The Lis Code'. I think you'll like it.

You see, I've been planning to explore more of Borealis' past, but I'm not sure if I should do this in future chapters, or in a completely new story (an appendix of sorts, where I could delve deeper into details about the war, and the past)

Adp

Great story, keep up the good work!

living time bomb easy way out give him immortality

I'm getting some really bad Molotov Cocktease memories from this part...

6826005 bet that's why he spends his days drinking cheap alcohol

7588105 I can't say it's 'dead'. On temporary hiatus, maybe. I've been working on other projects and I guess my brain stopped producing content for this one. I've published new chapters on seemingly dead stories before, and I believe this will eventually happen here, considering that I stopped halfway through the next chapter.

I was assuming it was going to be a mr and mrs smith theme going on until I read it.

I was pleasantly surprised.
