V-Day Fire

The smell of love was in the air. Or perhaps that was just Twilight Sparkle's scent. It was hard for Sunset Shimmer to distinguish between the two. To her, Twilight was the mathematical equivalent of love.

Math. The only reason that was ever on Sunset's mind was because of her fiancée's obsession with it. If only she were here right now...

The redhead high school graduate was currently sitting on Twilight's bed. She came over to the Sparkle's house so often that she was practically the co-owner of Twilight's bedroom. The family loved having her over and, even if they didn't, Cadance would give them an earful about obstructing love or some such drivel.

Cadance. What a character. Sunset never complained because the self-proclaimed “princess of love” encouraged her relationship with Twilight. That was a plus that Sunset was grateful for.

There was just something about that bookworm with the dark blue hair that made Sunset's heart go wild. The Twilight from Equestria was different than the one from this world. Sunset was friends with the former but lovers with the latter. This human Twilight was more down to Earth. More attractive in that I've-got-to-push-her-up-against-a-wall sense. Not that Sunset would ever do that to her fiancée. No, only if she asked.

There was always the smell of old books in Twilight's room. Even her bedsheets were rife with it. There was another scent, though. It was a light tropical fruit aroma that Twilight had been strong armed by Sunset into installing via a wall outlet scent maker. The redhead could only take so much library smell, after all.

Amidst these scents, Sunset was currently immersed in another one altogether. She was laid across Twilight's bed and clutching her fiancée's most recent pair of pajamas. They had lost their warmth from the early morning, but they still smelled like the girl that had worn them. Inhaling that scent was better than any addictive substance known to humankind.

“Sunset!” Twilight exclaimed in mixed shock and anger.

Oops.

Caught.

Sunset smirked as she sat up on the bed and put the clothing down. “What?” she asked with her most smug voice. It was something she was good at. Particularly with Twilight.

“Perv,” the girl rolled her eyes and yanked the pajamas off the bed on her way to the dresser.

“What are you talking about?” Sunset didn't lose her playful nerve. “I'm still clothed aren't I?”

Indeed, she was still wearing the white outfit she had put on after they had woken up that morning. It happened to be the same getup she had worn on Christmas, which made sense given how cold it still was. There was snow outside, giving assurance that Spring was not yet welcome.

“Are you implying,” Twilight deadpanned as she stuffed the clothes back into the appropriate drawer, “that you were considering taking your clothes off?”

Sunset hopped off the bed and tried to sneak up behind her lover. “Maybe I should have worn your pajamas. It might have gotten a bigger reaction out of you.”

Just before the taller girl could grab the unsuspecting bookworm from behind, she was halted. Twilight turned around sharply and stopped Sunset cold by grabbing her face and keeping her at a distance. “That desperate for a reaction are you?”

Sunset's voice came muffled from beneath Twilight's hand, her body still in a creepy grabbing stance. “I need your love, Twily,” she whined.

Twilight sighed. “You're like some kind of attention zombie.”

A bark came from below, as if in agreement. It was the home's only resident dog and Twilight's prized pet, Spike. He looked happy just to be near the pair, likely content after the walk Twilight had just brought him back from.

Again, Sunset spoke muffled behind the hand. “But it's Lovey Dovey Day.”

Yes, it was Valentine's Day. Twilight hadn't forgotten. That was why Sunset had slept over the night before and had a serious problem with keeping her hands off of her. Not that such a situation was that different than any other day, but it was what it was. Twilight had finished the daily chores around the house and could relax the rest of the day. She figured she might as well indulge her future wife.

The hand was removed. Twilight almost instantly regretted it. The smile that had been hiding behind her hand was much like the one on some creepy late night stalker. Sunset's hands stretched out and wiggled around, as if getting ready to grab something.

“I used to rule an entire school, you know,” Sunset smirked with some scheme working itself out within her cyan irises. “I don't think I'll have any problem ruling you.”

Twilight's expression turned worried and uncertain for the first time that day. “Mom and dad-”

“Are gone on a special Valentine's date,” Sunset reminded her future spouse. “They won't be back until the day after tomorrow. Shining Armor and Cadance are in the Bahamas by now. We're all alone and nobody is going to save you.”

Just as Twilight opened her mouth, Sunset made a bone-chilling snicker that could have come from a serial killer. Twilight's mouth closed again, her face paled, and Spike decided to leave his master to her own fate. He left the room in a nonchalant manner. Complete traitor.

“What's wrong, Twily?” Sunset's eyes took on an equally crazy glow. “I thought you liked it when I took charge.”

The bookworm gulped and suddenly felt much smaller than she really was. Fight or flight. She took flight. Time to follow Spike's lead and bolt for the door.

She never made it.

Sunset started laughing uncontrollably in her much more innocent tone while Twilight screamed in horror upon being grabbed around the waist. Her attempt to flee the room had failed and now she relented to screaming, kicking, and crying in terror as Sunset reeled her back towards the bed.

“Great Celestia,” Sunset said in between laughs. “Settle down, Twily.”

“I don't want to die!”

“You're not going to die,” Sunset took her turn in rolling her eyes. She tossed the other girl onto her own bed, making her bounce a bit with the impact. The playful redhead then climbed atop her, fighting the flailing arms and legs the whole way. “Though a time out may be in order...”

Sunset sealed the deal with a kiss, pressing down on Twilight so the flying limbs wouldn't hit her. Thankfully, it didn't take long for Twilight's thrashing to cease. She melted into the kiss and even started to return it with passion. In the end, Sunset was actually the one to pull back and her fiancée was the one following her up so the kiss wouldn't break. It hadn't escaped Sunset's notice that her girl's hands had been headed south.

“Whoa!” Sunset declared into the heated room. “You've got some fire in you, girl.”

Twilight sighed in contentment. “Your fire, Sunny.”

“I thought the plan was to eat chocolate and watch dumb romance movies in the living room.”

“And engage in patterns of systemic and gradually escalating make-out sessions,” Twilight smiled in faux innocence.

They both giggled at that.

Twilight smoothed out her purple skirt as she whirled over to the side of the bed and then adjusted her white blouse when she stood up. “Don't deviate from today's schedule,” she warned. “I planned it out to the minute. This is a rare chance for us to be alone at my house.”

“I'll start opening the chocolates,” Sunset said as she followed, stretching herself out in the process.

“Aren't they already open?” Twilight tossed her back a smug expression as payback for Sunset's earlier one.

The redhead gulped. “How'd you know?”

“I tasted it,” Twilight tapped her lips.

“But I wiped them,” Sunset argued, certain she had done everything to prevent her girl from finding out she had hit the goodies already.

“Not on your lips,” Twilight corrected. As if to give a tease, she shook her hips on her way out of the bedroom.

“Shouldn't have Frenched it,” Sunset mumbled to herself as she joined Twilight. It was time to engage in their day's agenda.

She wasn't really. It's just typical playfulness. :pinkiehappy:

was cute, but short

I give you 8.5 because you didn't had Discord in it, and didn't mention his name

Yaay, sequel, but we need sex now x3 xD please? *O*

Well, that escalated quickly :twilightblush:

I had no idea this existed

I shall read it ASAP.

well that was short

#Give Flash a Chance.

Well, that was firmly adorable.

I still have not stopped smiling since reading A Calming Christmas Flame. I think my face may be stuck like this. I don't know what to do. Reading the sequels is only making it worse! Why must this be so great?!
I'm sueing you if there's any lasting damage from this.

As adorable and sincere as the first. Though I can't wait to get into the true sequel... Which I think I may start right now!

A quick note, it's funny how Sunset is unyielding in her appetite for intimacy, while Twilight's thoughts on the subject seem to table flip every minute or two. I know Twi's not actually changing her mind constantly...which means she's playing a pretty devilish and long-winded game of chess, certainly a means to an end of her own careful plotting. I wish I could see what's brewing inside that egg-shaped head... Sunset had better be careful when thinking about just how much control she really has in her lover's bed. :raritywink:

PS. One day, there had better be a story about the honeymoon...full detail. xD

Well... The effects are still showing. Might be time to pick up that phone. 0_o

Loved every single moment. There are just so many that I don't know which one to pick as a highlight. :raritystarry:

I loved this. Kinda wish you had continued it a bit though

Sleepy Sunset is a cute Sunset:heart:

Cadance. What a character. Sunset never complained because the self-proclaimed “princess of love” encouraged her relationship with Twilight. That was a plus that Sunset was grateful for.

And be proud of too. 😊

I don't blame her. :ajsmug:

I'm having diabetes and these stories make me feel single
