Eh, a fic like this is hard to write, mainly because you have to keep information under wraps. Now that they actually know what they're up against, and the killer knows that they know, expect it to heat up.
Also, There's multiple twists

I always knew the UIP were a bit evil but after hearing that story.... Well, let's just say that your other stories paint a very nice picture about them compared to this. Then again, your other fics have the UIP defending ponies or justifiably fighting them. My only issue is that the UIP treated fellow humans like that after they surrendered barely putting up a fight. Guess shock and awe tactics is what they were shooting for in order to prevent further or future resistance.

The thing in the other fics is that it's described either from the prospective of people that haven't met them before, or from UIP personel themselves. With the ponies, changelings etc, they don't see them as a threat, but as creatures that can be manipulated and used. Don't let that fool you, the UIP is ruthless, violent and will do whatever it takes to win. I mean, look at some of my other characters. They're not only employed, but respected (mostly) by their fellows.
However, on the other hand, this infomation Shetlock, Sparkle and Bastion were given is from a bais source. As Shetlock thought himself, you have to wonder how much is true and how much is exaggerated to villify the enemy. Look at WW2 popaganda for example.
