Shining Armor is sent two tickets by Princess Celestia to The Grand Galloping Gala. Now he just needs to decide who he should take with him. The problem is that all five of his friends want to go. How will the stallion decide, and what will the mares do to try and persuade him.
(A story set in what I guess I'll call The Shiny-verse).

That bit with Nightmare Moon's armor, certainly sounds like it's setting up for something later on in this universe.
And so it begins. Now not only will Shining Armor have 5 friends competing for 1 ticket, but he'll be facing down the prospect of them trying to hit on him.

1. Some friendly writing guidance... If you are going to make this an ongoing series for the "Shining-verse," then I would advise using a consistent Series Title across every following story, so it is clear to both new and continuing readers.
For example(s):

or
FiS, Episode 2: Ticket to Disaster

2. Story-wise, very good foreshadowing, both with Nightmare Moon's armor and Fluttershy's possible knowing about Zecora (for later with Bridle Gossip). With an AU series such as yours, subtle foreshadowing (keyword: subtle) is a strong storytelling tool to make use of.
This is definitely worth a favorite. MOAR!!!

I still don't understand why Twilight, or anyone for that matter would've instructed Rainbow Dash to close up the cloud hole and then start to eat lunch. I mean seriously, what do you think would happen? It's a no brainer.
All the same at least Rarity wasn't a captain obvious this time. Though I suppose if it weren't for that we wouldn't have gotten Twilight's "No. Really?" line.

I don't know if I'd say all. I'll probably skip some stories or touch on them more in passing then try to write them all.
Besides, more likely I won't make it that far. I can't say for sure, but I don't know if I'll keep focused on the series long enough to write it to a culmination.

I vote that they melt the armor down and reforge it into a sword. Because that would be really cool. Though a sword made out of nightmares (or whatever it is that makes the armor special and probably pretty dangerous) probably wouldn't be any less problematic than armor made out of nightmares.
