Which would be a gross misuse of her power. I'm not sure Celestia is one to do that... especially since she's usually extremely lenient. That's the same mare who was willing to forgive Luna, and Discord, and probably Sunset Shimmer as well. Just singling out Flash Sentry like that shouldn't go without her getting called out, and called out hard; doubly so since she'd be using the power of her office to punish somepony for petty revenge.

Yeah, like I said: Using the power of her office for petty revenge. If there is a clause that explicitly prohibits guard members from infidelity that's another matter. Even so, going above and beyond the punishment warranted would be completely arbitrary.
Also: I do believe what Discord did also counts as hurting on an emotional level^^
Anyhow: If Celestia et al are so dead-set on throwing the book at Flash Sentry and more, I can't see her as in the right on this.

I'm with The Great Derpsby, Celestia doing anything to punish Flash for cheating on Twilight would be overstepping her bounds in a big way. At least with Shining Armor and Cadence they're related(brother and sister-in-law), so they would be more then within bounds to rip Flash limb from limb.
