She used to have a charmed life. Flying high on fame, everypony knew she was the greatest flyer in all of Equestria. Captain of the Wonderbolts, married to her lieutenant, and doing what she loved most of all, she could do no wrong.

Until the accident.

Such a shame, they said, So much wasted potential.
Now looking forward to a life forever bound to the earth, she seeks solace in the one thing that still makes her happy. In her books, she can fly away from her troubles, leaving behind the ground and all those who would seek to bring her back down to earth.

If only she had a little more time.

Eight years, it's not even a full decade, it seems like such a small chunk of time, but so much can happen in eight years. For Twilight sparkle those eight years are non existent. An accident put her into a coma and now eight years later, she's finally waking up. Now she has to deal with everything that happened in a world that has forgotten what happened, a world that feels alien to her. Can she find a place for herself in this new world or will it trample her.

Equestria, land of magic and harmony. Where the three pony races co-exist in peace, ruled over by their benevolent princess. With their ultimate weapons, the elements of harmony, they have vanished many a foe, while others were reformed and now reside in said land.

Enter a being who does whatever they want, whenever they want, views logic as a suggestive guideline, outright breaks physics, and can perform impressive magical feats, when they can be bothered, and dresses in bright colours, the perfect camouflage for ponies. How will the ponies respond to such a being? Most likely with minor annoyance at their inane antics and national scale pranks.

When Twilight Sparkle dragged Starlight Glimmer into one of the alternate timelines the unicorn had inadvertently created, they saw a world not filled with chaos, pollution, or war, but instead completely empty. The entire landscape was nothing but dust and the occasional bit of dead shrubbery.

But was it really so empty?

In this place, one still walks alone, as the last living thing in her world. And as she walks she reminisces on times past, and how her world came to an end.

Septimus isn't the luckiest guy. A musician that didn't quite make it in his dream career, he works part time as a sound technician. He's not terribly appreciated, and nobody cared enough to ask after him. The only thing keeping his life together is his nightly Parkour runs, free running his troubles away for a few hours.

But things get a bit interesting when he's visited by a mystery mare he hasn't met before, and can't seem to look at either, all on a Moonlight Promenade.

Vice-Principal Luna is asked to investigate the student who has been at the center of all of the recent issues at CHS - Sunset Shimmer.

Rated TEEN

This fic will deal with some hefty issues such as: Mental Illness, relationships, poor choices, and how two damaged souls navigate the waters.

I wanted to keep the teen rating on this, mostly because while there won't be any explicit content, it WILL deal with some heavy emotional trauma, and I don't think that hiding that behind a "mature" tag will do anyone a service.

You have been warned.
