Vinyl has spent many a production behind the scenes, a lowly audio tech waiting in the wings. But she can't help but become awestruck by the beauty that is Black Rose Company's star actress, Octavia Philharmonica. After months of waiting, Vinyl finally gets a chance to befriend Octavia, and sets off on her ensuing quest to win her lady's heart.

Vinyl Scratch, the famous DJ Pon-3. One of the biggest names in all of music. Of course, everypony needs to start somewhere, and Vinyl is no exception. Where did Vinyl first play the turntables? Did she play anything before dropping those sick beats of hers? When did she say, I wanna be a DJ?

Who is Viola Strings, and how does she relate to all this?

Fiddlesticks and Octavia have always been inseparable. Ever since they were fillies that had been each others best friend. But when their Mother is stricken with an illness, they - along with the rest of the family - drift apart. In attempts to save her Mother, Octavia takes it upon herself to leave the family farm in pursuit of a more suitable means of making to money. In turn, Fiddlesticks is forced to say goodbye to her only sister, Octavia forever.

Vinyl Scratch wants to put the past behind her as she starts her new life at Equestria United Community College. But can she overcome that past to get along with her new classically inclined roommate Octavia and learn new ways to enjoy and express music with the Equestrian Girls, the local A Cappella group of EUCC?

Yes, I know, it sounds an awful lot like some other american movie *cough cough* Pitch Perfect *cough cough*, but I couldn't help it! I watched the movie, all I thought of was that Beca was their DJ, and we had our own. So while I did get a lot of inspiration from the movie, this will have a few of it's own twists and turns.

Two side-notes to make: One, thanks to Gwg for the editing and some suggestions for this story! Two, this story takes place in the same universe as the rest of my stories, but happens 4 years before Twilight first comes to Ponyville. ENJOY!
