Hello, my name is Rhyvendra. I am a writer, though sadly I am not so good at pony stories, so my writing will not be here. I do enjoy reading other's stories however. Thank you all for writing. *Bows*

Inspiration, cover art and pictures in the story all courtesy of the PMV of the same name by the talented Loveless Nova, used with his/her permission and blessings. If you haven't already, check out the PMV - If I Were a Pony. It is awesome.

Queen Chrysallis died in the aftermath of that ruinous invasion of Canterlot. But Tartarus would not be my afterlife, and death not my reaper. No, Ponyville is to be my purgatory, and my socially-inept roommate, Moon-Butt, my rather overly-enthusiastic reaper. I now live on borrowed time at the whims of my layabout of a roommate. To earn my freedom I must be able to not only prove that a changeling can live as a pony but also earn affection as one. But in between trying to get used to the notion that friends aren't food and learning to join the flash mobs in song and dance, I find that there is more to being a pony than meets the eye.

That was the good news. The bad news? I swear by the Ancient Ones, this useless sloth I have to share a room with is simply using me as an excuse to be an incompetent freeloader away from her sister's watchful eyes. You know everything has gone hooves-up when I'm the voice of reason. But bills need to be paid, bits need to be earned, and I have to somehow save up enough to move out of this flat. For my sanity's sake.

On a patrol through the White Tail woods, Twilight comes across a dying changeling. Torn between giving up the drone to the guards or leaving it in the inhospitable wilds, Twilight reluctantly takes the drone in. As it awakens she realises that the drone was a blank slate, with no connection, no 'programming' guiding its functions. So Twilight sets out to teach this changeling about the world, one hoof step at a time.

Rated Teen for slightly mature themes involving ethical dilemmas.

If Word Worthy stopped editing for me, I'd likely wind up as a grammar-less hack. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Pincer is a changeling, a proud soldier of Queen Chrysalis. After the failed invasion of Canterlot, he finds himself trapped and at the mercy of Princess Celestia's Royal Guard. Believing that Celestia sees his species as nothing but soulless monsters, he prepares himself for the worst. The weeks crawl by, marked by an endless series of questions he will not answer for fear of endangering his friends and family at The Hive. As his nerves wear down and his interrogators learn just how ruthless he thinks they are, they have nothing to report but his belief that they will kill and destroy his kind without mercy.

Celestia steps in to prove him wrong, and what Pincer learns leaves him questioning everything he has ever known — but also gives him hope for what he'd never thought possible.

Spike has always considered Ponyville his home, and has always held Rarity a special place in his heart. That is, until a group of dragons showed up after years of looking for him. After meeting his real family and hearing why he was brought into the ponies' care, he starts to rethink his old thoughts.

Now he only has a week to make a decision: either stay with the ponies who loved and cared for him most of his life, or go with the dragons and finally be with his real family. The decision would have been all so clear...

...if there wasn't another factor in the equation.

Ghost Anlace is a war pony. His purpose in life is to fight for Equestria, and he does so with bravery unrivaled by any. But when he's injured a few months before the long war against the Zebrae ends, his purpose in life is questioned. What use is a war pony if there's no war to be fought? Now he has to start his life over with his injuries, extreme distrust, and paranoia in tow.
As a war hero, he's given a choice of where to live. Disdainful of the high society life in Canterlot, he chooses to settle himself in Ponyville, a primarily Earth Pony town. He stays out of public view, choosing to wander the streets at night. Over a long period, his unwillingness to be part of Ponyville's humble cheeriness fades somewhat. Some of his stoic demeanor fades as well. He goes on a few adventures and makes a few friends along the way, but none of them know his complete past. If they did, Ghost is sure, they would hate him.
As he slowly assimilates into living a normal life, Ghost begins to wonder what he was born to do. Surely he couldn't have been born just to kill and maim? And just as he begins to explore other paths, the Zebrae war flares up again. Now, caught between what he was assured was his purpose for so many years and his new life and friends (and maybe a mare who could be more), he has to make his choice. But as the war causes more and more casualties and the pleading from the military turns to demands, Ghost discovers that he may not have a choice at all...
