Spike has done it. He has finally freed himself of Twilight's grip, got the girlfriend he desperately desired, and is living the life he wanted, but is it right? He did kill the Elements of Harmony. Maybe he isn't in the right. Driven by Princess Luna's pleas, he, Vakim, and Princess Luna set out on a quest to find the only things that could help them...the legendary Dragonflower...and Princess Cadence.

The princesses are seen as the pillar of Equestria. Stable, unmoving, and powerful.

But there are many things that are hidden from the world. Power struggles and dark secrets surround the royal pair. It’s been 300 years since Celestia took on a student and longer still for Luna. Together, they have decided to select two foals from this years crop of candidates.

A young colt, a dreamer who is constantly creating new ideas and theories. And an even younger filly, a bookworm who is well-read on every subject and even more so on all matters magical. Together, the two of them will be swept away in the excitement, the honors, and the dangers of being pupils to the Princesses.

Through all the struggles, the good, and the bad, there will be two words that gain a whole new meaning for them.

However, this quickly ends when she suddenly loses a large portion of her memory. Now her friends have to adjust to a Twilight who doesn’t seem to know a thing about friendship. As if all that wasn't enough, a sinister force is pulling strings without anypony being able to unveil the identity of the puppeteer...

How would things be different if Twilight had never made it to Ponyville? Twilight Sparkle finds out just how different things could be when she is forced to travel to her own past while chasing down a mystery; a plot to erase Princess Twilight Sparkle from history.

Landing in a time just weeks after the one thousandth Summer Sun Celebration, she finds a world shrouded in an eternal night, where the Elements of Harmony were never recovered. Can she fix the things that should have, but didn't happen? Or is this Equestria destined to head down a different path?

With Hearth's Warming Eve just around the corner, Twilight Sparkle's followers are beginning to lose hope in one another. Supplies are low, and spirits even lower. Twilight begins to doubt herself, for how can she lead ponies if she can't even be trusted to feed them?

It will take the love of her friends, and the compassion of all those who call her their leader, to make it through this year's Hearth's Warming Eve. This winter, Twilight and her friends will realize that so long as the fires of friendship burn in their hearts, no pony will ever be cold.
