It's inconceivable, preposterous, ludicrous! They seriously think I, Rarity, fashion designer extraordinaire would be willing to share even a suite with such an... uncouth beast! Unfortunately, the Canterlot Ritz—and every other hotel—is booked solid, so it is either this or nothing. I suppose as long as I keep to myself, I will survive the week. Right?

Most pegasi figure out flying easily enough. Heck, most of them figure out how to do it before they even get their cutie marks.

But not me. I couldn’t do it, no matter how hard I tried. I couldn’t even hover. Not for more than a few seconds, anyway. And not even Rainbow Dash, the greatest flier in Equestria, could seem to help me. We tried everything, and I failed every time. Day after day, I tried – and day after day, I failed, until finally I was ready to just give up. I’d never be able to do it. Nopony would ever be able to help me to fly...

...until one day, somepony did.

Fluttershy is having a tough summer day. She knew, of course, that there wasn't a chance for anything between her and Rainbow, but having her hopes dashed by an off-hoof comment before she even dared voice them...

...the one pony Dash might just trust her heart with this whole "romance" thing. Because she has no idea what's going on, or even if she's got those kind of feelings. After all, Fluttershy wouldn't hurt a fly and they...

With a weary but willing heart, she must find a way through the city's many perils to reach the mare she loves. But Jannah is abandoned for a reason. Nameless horrors stalk it's streets at night, and the city itself is infested by the Noise, a chaotic siren call that lures ponies to their death on the cobblestones. A mad Zebra shaman named D'Jalin and his mercenary band try to unlock the power of a strange artifact at the city's center, and Rainbow may be their key to bringing it to life. Celestia will not risk letting free the Evil which does not sleep, and her friends are far behind. Rarity has only her gun and her own fierce determination now, in the whitewashed tombs of Jannah.

Rarity is moving up in the world. Her noble House, the long gone House of Belle, has been restored by royal decree and given to her as a reward for services rendered to the crown. After many adventures, Rarity and Dash are heading to Canterlot for a life of leisure and gentility. But not all is well. Rainbow, injured in past adventures, harbors feelings that wait to be released. Bitterness grows in the dark places of the heart, and though she is happy for her spouse, Rainbow's dreams were stolen from her by misfortune. Nothing can change that. Rarity receives everthing... and Rainbow? Perhaps she receives nothing for her efforts, in the end. It'll depend.
