My name is Kadie, and when I was eight years old, my people, the griffins, went to war with the ponies of Equestria. My mother never wanted me to think about that, so she never talked about it. The Emperor told my father that he had to go off and fight the ponies, though, so I know that she thought about it a lot.

A few months after I turned ten, a messenger came into our town and told us that our emperor didn't want to fight anymore, so the ponies won, and we lost. Mother said that since we lived so close to our capital, we needed to go see the pony army meet our emperor.

I did not like that.

This collection of vignettes is meant to be a followup to my main stories, Summer Days and Evening Flames. If you have not read these stories, I can't guarantee that these will make any sense. Feel free to read anyway, but don't say you weren't warned.

Tensions grow hotter in the mining town of Farrington after the events of one disastrous night. The fallout from this blaze will test many citizens' relationships in fire. Some will falter, but some may perservere.

Before any repairing can begin, ponies—and one griffin—will have to take stock of their pasts, or else their futures may end up strangled by their scars.

One of Equestria's greatest traits is tolerance. Every pony, whether Unicorn, Pegasus, or Earth, is accepted for who they are, and have their own parts to play in keeping Equestria running.

But what if an Earth pony decided he didn't want to play his assigned part? What if he wanted to rise above everyone else and become an Alicorn? Such a thing is possible... but the path to fulfilling one's dreams is never simple. Risks must be taken. Sacrifices must be made. They make their intentions of beating her up quite plain, and when the leader went to attack her... What she did; she didn't mean for it to happen that way, but it happened.

In the main timeline, she killed all three of her tormentors and went on to become a deadly serial killer. Here, one of them escapes, and Rarity is caught right away...
