Spike finds himself in the middle of nowhere, and with no way of getting back home. For a journey this big its gonna take two, and Spike forges an unsteady partnership with a unlikely pony.

Embarked on a dangerous journey to reach his home Spike is gonna have to keep an ace up his sleeve, call some bluffs, and hope his companion hasn't stacked the deck in her favor. Tempers flare, teeth will be grit, and things will never be the same. Enough napping young dragon, it's your turn for an adventure.

This story is a sequel to Light My Fire

NOTE: This story serves more as a prequel to Light My Fire, however, you don't need to read Light My Fire to enjoy this story.

Today is Hearts and Hooves Day, a day where every pony in Equestria gives their special someponies their love and care. Usually everyone enjoys this day expecially Sweetie Belle, but for Spike, love is just a game for him since he knows that Rarity will never want a guy like him, however, that will soon change. When he receives a love letter from Sweetie Belle, Spike begins to reconsider his feelings for her older sister and asks Twilight for help while Sweetie Belle asks for Rarity's advice on what to do when Spike tells Sweetie if he has feelings for her or not.

No CMC tag since Scootaloo and Apple Bloom aren't major characters in the story.

After finding her assistant missing again during her court duties, Twilight finds Spike with none other then Fluttershy and learns that the two have been a couple for a while. After overcoming her shock, she is told the story of how the two, unexpectedly, found comfort in each others embrace...

An innocuous trip into the Everfree Forest for Twilight Sparkle quickly turns into much more, leaving our heroine caught between bloodthirsty monsters, an ancient conspiracy of evil, straining friendships, and the maddening effects of a certain blue unicorn...

Twilight lives a comfortable, expected life with the security of being surrounded by her mentors and friends. As she grows into a model unicorn, a dangerous being takes hold of the volatile Brood and drives them to war, breaking a long period of peace. After years of preparation for a higher order, Twilight is chosen to ascend beyond that of a typical sorcerer in a mysterious plan to counter the impending conflict.

During her dark, trying mission Twilight will discover a caged soul and unknowingly set them free, gradually acquiring an affinity for the darkness as a result. As she struggles within deepening conflict, she must push on and fight for what she believes in. Following the road, he finds himself in the town of Dragonsville, a rural town in the direct center of the country of Serpentia, land of love, tolerance, and harmony. Upon entering the town, he comes face-to-face with the most confusing group of dragons he's ever met: Pinkie Pie, the baker; Rainbow Dash, the stunt flyer; Applejack, the farmer; Rarity, the designer; Fluttershy, the animal enthusiast; Twilight Sparkle, the librarian; and Spike, the #1 assistant, who also happens to be a unicorn, a species most rare in this land.

And so begin the most incredible two weeks of Spike's life...

Seeing the poor dragon at his wits end trying to woo Rarity, Gilda decides to give Spike some tips and help him gain the mare of his affection. Although she finds him slightly annoying, he starts to grow on her. And she soon learns that Spike has taken a liking to her as well...
