For centuries, countless griffons have braved the depths of the Abysmal Abyss in the hopes of recovering the Idol of Boreas, never to return.

But now stories have surfaced that someone came close to bringing back the legendary artefact, and one group of explorers is willing to try again where others have failed, for a chance at restoring Griffonstone’s lost glory once and for all.

Unfortunately, success may hinge on them first getting into that friendship thing that dumb ponies seem to love so much.

(This story is a direct sequel and picks up right after Timeless ends. If you haven't read the previous story, ye be warned for confusion and spoilers!)

The sun is eternal, distant, powerful, timeless, and out of reach of any mortal creature. Like the entity she controls Celestia has curated such a view of herself over a thousand years. Having run the nation for over a millennium the Solar Princess is, to many, a revered and nigh-unapproachable figure.

However when you wear a mask for too long, it is said, you can forget who you are underneath.

While attempting to maintain a semblance of government during a devastating plague-like outbreak Celestia herself falls ill and she is all too thankful when an expert on the disease arrives to help. What the Alicorn didn't expect to find however, was how much she needed a friend more than any curative potion. Yet something about this doctor seems oddly unnatural and familiar.

As the continued efforts from a dangerous foe strive to destroy everything the Solar Princess holds dear, friendships may prove to be more valuable than any blade.

Deep inside the dangerous forests in the country of Qin. There was a small mountain village called Nanshan. Four boys from the village find an artifact that changes their lives and many others forever.

While in Canterlot, Twilight is a week away from graduating and meets a mare who cannot speak. The mare writes to her and tells her that she is ill and needs help. Twilight tries, but eventually ends up unable to retrieve the medicine in time. Days later, strange things happen when an unusual magical energy brings something to Equestria that didn't belong.

When an ancient magical mirror of unclear function is unexpectedly uncovered on the edges of the Dragon Lands, along with hints that it might be originally of griffon construction, Gallus joins a small party sent to retrieve the mirror and bring it back to Canterlot, hoping to find out more about what it has to do with his kind and why it was found so far from his homeland.

What he learns instead was that the mirror should've stayed buried.
