This story is a sequel to What My Destiny is Telling Me

While this story is set in continuity with What My Destiny is Telling Me (and, by extension, The Final Conversation), it can be read on its own, as there is a quick recap of the first story in the text.

Sunset Shimmer's world changed, very literally, the day she fled through a magic mirror and became stuck on the other side. It changed again shortly afterwards, when a desperate search for shelter landed her at a home that, at the urging of their eldest daughter, took her in as family.

Sunset knows she owes a lot to Rarity, not merely in giving her a home but in helping her grapple with the darkness that lay inside her. Yet she still struggles to find solace in her new realm, the unicorn mind within her still struggling with being trapped in a human body -- and worse, potentially adjusting to it. Rarity can see the turmoil in her sister, and wants to help, but knows it's not going to be an easy conversation to have.

But it's a necessary one, for both their sakes.

Set in an alternate universe in which the timeline diverges after Sunset leaves Equestria. This story also deviates from the depiction of Sunset's past as portrayed in the comic The Fall of Sunset Shimmer; some details of said past are instead depicted in The Final Conversation.

Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder and Dewdrops on the Grass. Written for the Bean's Writing Group prompt "Stargazing".

This story is dedicated to Ninjadeadbeard.

Sunset Shimmer was a pony that always had her destiny in her control… but that was before. Now, trapped for months in a world where she no longer has magic, no longer has a plan and no longer even has her own body, she's lost. She found an unexpected lifeline, however, when she showed up at the Crumbles/Flanks residence, desperate for help, and formed a close bond with a human around her own age, Rarity.

Having lived together for several months, Rarity has grown to consider Sunset a sister, even as Sunset feels hesitant about the moniker. Shortly before the start of the school year, Rarity brings Sunset along on an annual camping trip, hosted by Applejack and Big Mac, hoping to better acquaint Sunset with her friends. But one morning, Rarity awakes to find Sunset, sleepless and distraught, struggling with concerns and fears she doesn't understand... as the specter of destiny continues to loom large in the former unicorn's mind.

And it's up to Rarity to provide some much-needed comfort.

Set in an alternate universe in which the timeline diverges after Sunset leaves Equestria. This story also deviates from the depiction of Sunset's past as portrayed in the comic The Fall of Sunset Shimmer. Chronologically, it takes place after the events of The Final Conversation, though reading that story is not a requirement.

Minor Note: My stories generally treat Canterlot High School as a 7-12 school to justify the Cutie Mark Crusaders/Canterlot Movie Club being there in the main films. Keep that in mind if you notice some odd-looking age math in there; at the time of the story, Rarity and Sunset are about to start 9th grade (freshman year).

This story is a sequel to The Visiting Team -- Part II

Princess Luna wants to return her nightmare guards to the dark realm from whence they were summoned. And there's just one pony who can help her with that: Trixie Luna Moon. With her Advanced Projects team, of course...

------------------------------

Since it's been a while, here's a quick recap for those new to the Advanced Projects series:

On an alternate branch of the G4 timeline, Twilight Sparkle never left Canterlot and is now an Acting Princess, with a very different group of close friends: Tempest Shadow, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie Luna Moon, Sunset Shimmer, and Moondancer -- plus Cheese Sandwich as their on-call party pony. And each of these has had a very different past, as a result of meeting Twilight Sparkle so early.

In particular, Trixie was once the Great and Powerful student and protégé of Princess Luna... while she was Nightmare Moon. Which has its consequences...

So, it would just be very easy for Wallflower to get the wrong impression.

Which is why she was happy when she stumbled across a way to know the objective truth about how she and Sunset measure up against one another.

This story is a sequel to I Am Awkward (Yellow)

As Fluttershy's birthday approaches, she learns two jarring things: not all of her friends are as fine with her new relationship as she had previously thought, and her human counterpart is extremely closeted.

This is a story about queerness, friendship, bunnies, humans who think they're bunnies, magic explosions, and extremely terrible flirting.

Probably the main thing you need to know from I Am Awkward (Yellow) is just that Fluttershy is dating Moon Dancer, and they're super cute together.

And now with its own sequel!

Twilight takes on the most important task in her career as a princess of Equestria, when she opens up a magical portal to a distant world with extra-Equestrian intelligence. With her organizational skills and keen understanding of scientific principles, she leads diplomats and scientists in a well-planned expedition to a historic first contact.

The first exchange doesn't quite go without a hitch, however, as the portal opens near a pony ranch at Texas, Earth.

For the purposes of this fic, assume Equestria Girls didn't happen.

Doctor Maud Pie, on the heels of a wildly successful year teaching in Stalliongrad, returns to Ponyville to give a lecture at the School of Friendship, and very nearly bores the children to death. However, Gallus notices something strange; every time Maud Pie speaks, his principal Starlight Glimmer lights up! What's that about? Gallus is determined to solve the mystery of the extremely boring lecture, and perhaps reveal ... a secret relationship between professor and principal?!

Written for the StarTrixMaud shipping contest, this is just a sweet story about an established relationship between Maud Pie and Starlight Glimmer, with some of that sweet, sweet mutual pining after a year spent apart!

Winner of Tenth Place, and Best StarMaud!

A straightforward little slice-of-life that gives you exactly what it says in the longdesc: a snapshot of an established relationship between headmare Starlight Glimmer and Dr. Maud Pie that is very short and sweet. What makes this Guest Lecturer stand out from other works of this light and fluffy genre is the introduction of the characters and the ship through the eyes of the students, for whom school administrators and guest lecturers are categorized somewhat closer to textbooks and lockers than fully-rounded people with lives of their own outside of school, which makes the peek behind the curtain all the more intriguing to them. This really grounds the presence and reality of their relationship and love by contextualizing it as part of the observable world that third parties can deduce; a fact about the universe as mundane and as obvious as the difference between igneous and metamorphic rocks. And that mundanity is just what makes this type of story so pleasant to spend time in.

Many folks wondered, where were The Great And Powerful Trixie and Starlight Glimmer during the events of My Little Pony: The Movie? They seemed to get no mention at all! What were they doing?

While Twilight Sparkle and her friends were busy saving the world from the Storm King, Trixie and Starlight Glimmer were defending the home front of Equestria using guerilla tactics, magic tricks, and downright theatrical performances to save innocent townsfolk! But when things go wrong and it seems like all hope is lost, will Starlight Glimmer be able to express her true feelings before it's too late?

Winner of Seventh Place and the Judge's Prize, The Tempest In a Teacup Prize!

With my Judge’s Prize, one of the big things I was looking for was a properly chaotic Trixie. She’s a treat (and amazingly useful story-wise) when she’s at her wildest. A number of stories satisfied that, but this one stepped forward and also hit one of my other favorite things: I love stuff that happened ‘off-screen’ during other major show events. I could go on for a while about the bits I enjoyed – the finale is great for using an established deus ex machina well; it brings in some of the Equestrian allies who were weirdly absent for the Movie proper and does so in a way that helps the situation make sense; both Starlight and Trixie are adorable. But to be totally honest, I was sold on this one the moment Trixie declared “If the power of friendship will not defeat you, perhaps the Power of Incredible Violence will!” I’m a total sucker for lines like that.
