Princess Luna is plagued by a recurring nightmare, a nightmare where she has no power, no means of authority, no means of escape, and with each nightmare, the details of the dream become more and more horrific.

Fearing for her sanity, Princess Luna begins to realise that she has no help to turn to and that she must face this on her own.

Princess Luna becomes trapped in the dreams of an eleven year old girl and neither believes the other is real.

Riptide, a glider sea pony, is tasked to to travel to the mainland and find Princess Celestia on behalf of the sea ponies, who fear their possible extinction. Once on land, he'll have to travel the tiny land of Equestria, make his way to Canterlot, (just a few hours from the coast, or so he's been told) and deal with the local wildlife, terrifying pony gobbling monsters like possums and hedgehogs. (Which Riptide imagines to be some kind of porcine-plant based horror.)

Selected because Celestia sent a message requesting a pony that needs to make friends, Riptide suffers from crippling social anxiety disorder. He carries with him the hope of the sea ponies.

Born a lunar pegasus, a strange foal seems to be changing into a unicorn shortly after birth. Called in to to investigate the magical curiousity, Princess Luna is asked to take the foal into her custody. After first mistaking the foal for a lunar alicorn, but then learning the truth, Luna agrees to take the foal into her care.

Luna learns the hard way that foal care is not her forte and the immortal alicorn is quickly laid low by the newborn foal.

After the Mirror Crisis, Equestria rebuilds. The Royal Pony Sisters, now a force for good, work to redeem themselves and earn the trust of their subjects, bringing law and order to the land. To help them, the The Four Virtues have pledged their aid. Flim and Flam, the Virtue of Fairness, Trixie, the alicorn that is the Virtue of Humility, Chrysalis, the Virtue of Love, and Derpy, the Virtue of Wisdom.

Serving the Virtues are two orders, the Guardians and the Rangers, ponies dedicated to restoring law and order to the land, hunting down and capturing The Malcontent Six, also known as the Erroneous Equines.

Garlic Van der Grease, a Preserver, the lowest rank of Guardian, and Fogwalker Fetlocks, a Scout, the lowest rank of Ranger, have been brought together to meet with Princess Celestia the Redeemed, to perform some task or another.

Little do they know that their task is to guard Princess Celestia's first ever faithful student, Sunrise Surprise as she goes off on a dangerous mission for her teacher.
