In an most unexpected turn of events, the Queen has woken up this morning to discover an alicorn in her bed. Just what is the meaning of this?

I'm assuming Twilight was taking Her Majesty to the afterlife, going by their ending conversation. And did another monarch die today? Cause I can't think of anything earth-shaking happening.

I'm talking about the concept of losing someone close in general. Happened to me twice in the last year. A bit of that may have inspired this story a tad, and may have come out on the printed page. Thanks for reading & commenting.

[...]you’ll see, Elizabeth.”

Yeah, i figured it out before you got this far.
I'm not British, and in fact i would like to see all terran monarchies abolished, but i did respect Bessie and enjoyed this short story.
Tiny quibble: would she have used a contraction in her farewell note? One supposes that royals do not indulge.

Dutiful to the last. Stiff upper lip, and all that. :rainbowdetermined2:

Oh, absolutely, i think the last words were great, immaculately British. I just think "It has been an honor" sounds more royal than "It's...".
Of course, those words should be shared with her adoring subjects, not just the scrofulous Chuck3 unit with the radar-dish ears.

Not a fan of Charles, eh? I won't ask what you think of Camilla. :trollestia:

And I think 'It Has Been An Honour' is something she'd say, but not necessarily write. In fact, now I can't get it out of my head said in her voice. Darn you...! :twilightangry2:

A quick youtube review of HRMQE2 vids reveals that she did indeed use contractions in public speech. I lost today, kid, but that doesn't mean that you have to like it.

PS: I really want to know what my voice sounds like in your head. Rich and sultry, it makes your knees weak...

Shouldn’t the Queen get a character tag?

If there's one for her, there should be one for Freddy Mercury too. :raritywink:

DON'T CLICK ON THIS LINK, FOLKS! SPAM ALERT! Thank you. :moustache:

An interesting concept. As a Brit this certainly connected with me; seems that stories themed around Her Majesty are doing the rounds once again.
