The Red Parade

Cars are still parked outside. If the rapture had happened, why was it unrecognizable? Why was the sky blue? Why did no one tell me? Do these things not announce themselves?

Still, a better love story than Fluttercord will ever be, man.

Just beautiful. You have an incredible way with using your scenery to tell as much of a story as your characters.

You say that yet Fluttercord is the only ship that has a natural flow to it, rather than a forced alternate universe like other ships.

(For the record I don’t really care for the ship in your question)

All ships are like plain little boats with (at least) two random packages on it, and with the right captain any kind can flow on the ocean smoothly. And if the captain was ambitious, it will be a wild ride as well. The packages are just there to flourish the ship to make things fun and offer helpful tools to get through tough situations. They don’t affect how the ship flows because that is the captain’s job.
It seems that our current captain is a really experienced and daring one. He took this across the sea and got it delivered rather neatly.

Also, it’s a good idea to not talk about things unrelated to the story here, :facehoof:especially when it involves saying that said unrelated thing is really bad or really good, because it affects the mood here in a bad way and derails the conversation, thank you.:twilightblush:

Man, I could feel Treehugger's pain throughout the story. Something I think anyone that lost someone they loved, friend, lover, or family, can relate to one way or another.

Stunning work as usual, Red.

My feels!

Excellent story, Red.

as good and poignant as this story is, I still wonder if tree hugger willed herself to die at the end or what

Howdy, hi!

Really loved this. Had a very autumn feel as loss fuels into winter. Loved the bittersweet feeling of the whole story. A real treat to read. Thanks for the fic!

Just remembered that I actually read a very similar story before with a similar feeling and plot line before in my country’s version of Fimfiction, except that it is about StarTrix. Good to know that some great classic ideas are universal. (:

Her guitar was still resting on a stand in the corner, thinly draped with a layer of dust now that her arthritis kept her from playing. The dresser was filled with scattered mementos and memorabilia: a deck of tarot cards, her collection of centering stones, an aroma diffuser and other various tools. None of which she had found the energy to use lately.

Treehugger had half a mind to sweep them all into the trash in one fell swoop.

You captured my anxiety about aging: being too old to enjoy the things you love. It's one of the reasons I hope we can cure aging in my lifetime.

This was a beautifully bittersweet story. Happy Holidays.

I read this earlier but hadn't gotten around to commenting. This was another great story about grief from you, and it was interesting to see this done with Treehugger grieving Fluttershy. Her pain throughout is demonstrated really well without feeling like she was a different character.
