Through the simple act of betraying with somepony he knows and loves. Spike will be shown just how far his music can take him. From a simple dream as a little dragon, he gave up his dream and his talent to help the only pony who betrayed him after so many years of being on her side. Running away from Ponyville with his violin, Spike trips to Canterlot... Healing old wounds, finding new friends or something more, and possibly even rekindling the old fire of his dreams...
This time he will focus not on the others, but to follow his dreams...

I really like this series. What I am hoping for in this tho is that it doesn't focus on Twilight and Rarity or even the mane girls. I think this should be Spike's story. The story of him finding himself and his gift, his loves, his own life. To me this goes beyond the scorn of those two but more about him now needing to find himself and his own identity outside of what connects him to Twilight. Now we all KNOW the girls will show up sooner than later because that is how they are. They feel they know better than most and that simply saying sorry is enough to fix things. But that isn't how life works. The biggest thing I like and I hope it says like this isn't that Twilight and Rarity hooked up. I think he could honestly get past that. He wasn't in a relationship with her he has no claim to who she can be involved with.... What he is and should be upset about is the hiding of it, that they didn't respect him enough to tell him. That hurt wont go away but he needs to drift form them to find his own being. Don't be some woman hater because some female didn't love you, and don't let rage consume you. He can distance himself, and have a healthy amount of time to process this but this should be about him growing beyond who he is at the moment.

Actually that was the idea, the fact of the story would be focused on Spike's live from now on, and you caught the idea of how the things work. I will not focus much on the other characters, instead of just the ones who could be dayly living with Spike or someone he cares. He actually wants to live his own dream, and avoiding the girls would be the best way for it.
Spike is about to head for the orchestra. I hope the mane 6 will attend the event along with the princesses and their families.

I still really like how you did this. This isn't a chad Spike who thinks he should have everything. He can get that the relationship didn't happen and that Rarity wasn't his. But the hurt from being lied to is what really steams him and I agree. But I think the best is Twi and Rarity aren't being painted as evil villains. They are two young mares who made a mistake and handled things VERY poorly. Did they fuck up and make distance with a friend that will take a LONG time to properly heal, yes. But are they two cruel and vile women who hurt him because they didn't care about him. No not at all. If anything they cared too much and didn't think how to handle things properly. They tried to cause the least amount of damage only to cause more. That is someone anyone can relate to. And the fact this was address by not making Twi a villain to her parents is great, yea Rarity might not be liked by them for a LONG time but shit like that happens. Hell there is no promise that relationship will last for ever. They are like 20 somethings, this is all a wild time of finding one self. What I think would be great if we see this go beyond pony years. Spike will live a long time... There are other long lived species that could also connect with Spike down the road as well after any lets say pony relationships might be long over.

I wouldn't blame spike for getting mad he always helped twilight and her friends and the one thing he wanted most was for rarity to return his feelings. She should have told him the truth about how she felt a long time ago and stop leading him on. They are going to find it a lot harder to get things done without their slave.

Yeah he might have been a little upset that the girl he crushed on was no longer available but he would have recovered a lot easier from that then finding out that your sister took your crush and didn't tell you for 2 months and everyone knew and except for discord nobody wanted to tell. Aj had to be convinced to do the right thing.

This chapter was excellent. Not only to see that Discord supporting Spike in his decision on his new life but to receive a progress report on how the element bearers are doing. Finding out that Discord is enjoying the sight of them going at each other's throats, makes me come to think he should've sold tickets. All I can hope for is that they don't attempt to show up at the festival, otherwise they bound to be plenty of FIREWORKS & SPARKS flying or a SMACKDOWN IN CANTERLOT TOWN.
