The news that Princess Cadence is having a baby came as a surprise to all but one mare, but now the secret is out and there's lots to discuss about it. Including the fact that Cadence is going to be a mom.
At a sleepover at Twilight's castle shortly after the big announcement, the girls all start to consider whether they might one day have families of their own. This kind of curiosity naturally gets them talking as each consider their own parental styles and restrictions or barriers to being a parent.
The resulting discussions may just reveal some things about themselves that the six mares have never known before. After all, no two mares approach the aspect of motherhood in quite the same way.
The title brings back MythrilMoth memories.

Still, I don't want to imagine Cadence's mood swings during her pregnancy. Or when she gave birth...I read a story once where Twilight was born and Shining's birth was described as
REALLY good job on this one-shot. Yeah, the exchanges and characterizations are well done in all the right places. ALL of them have made really good points (especially the ones who actually have younger siblings). And yeah, Pinkie has a point about how they ALL have quite a long time ahead of them before thinking about children (and, oddly enough, Pinkie was the first of the Mane Six to actually BECOME a mother, so it just goes to show that you never know).
I really like this. It makes a lot of sense and I can totally imagine that.

This story came off wonderfully! All it would need is an opening that has Spike leaving and an ending of the girls waking the next day with 'clear minded' thoughts as to how they all now have more to think on for their futures beyond their current life goals. After all, most of them have already achieved many of their aspirations with Dashie and Fluttershy really being the only two yet to attain their full dreams. As Flutters had hers by Season 8 and Dash, I believe, in Season 6? (season 6 and 7 are rough for me to recall as they were when I was dealing with surgery-after-surgery and then life without sight)
This would make a wonderful 'Slice Of Life' episode if they were to ever make TV 14 episodes of the show. I can't imagine the TV 14 eps being more than having discussions, like this. It would actually be neat to see what Twi and pals get to when not in situations where they are limited to what they can discuss.
