With newfound confidence in both herself and her magic, Twilight decides to take a bit of a late-night stroll outside of Ponyville in the wake of the Ursa Minor incident. But when she does, she finds, to her shock, that a certain mare has not made quite as much of an exit from the town as she first suspected.

I actually sorta like Trixie in this story. And it’s fairly well-written, too. Although some of the paragraphs could probably use some pruning...
...So how are there no comments and so few views when everyone other than myself absolutely loves Trixie!?

Love how even when she turns most of the bragging down she still manages to come off as condescending.

You write Trixie really well here! Also, Trixie and Twi as Roomates would be hilarious.

I like this. Trixie love is always appreciated. But, um, wasn’t her wagon completely flattened?

Well, it says it hit my feed 20 hours ago (at 00:30, if the mouseover timestamp is to be believed), and that your post was 19 hours ago (at 01:29 going by the mouseover timestamp)... Being the middle of the night, plus the traveling and/or preparations some people are likely doing for Thanksgiving coming tomorrow, I can see how it would probably take more than just an hour for more comments and views to happen.

...Hmm... "7th Oct 2019"... So perhaps I was simply on the very moment it got published. Or approved or whatever you want to call it.
...So what's with that month-plus gap!? Pretty sure my most recent story didn't take that long to get through the pipework... And, if you like, you can see how that turned out. Naught to do with Trixie, though, so... Anyway, what.

Just because G4 is over, it doesn't mean writers can't create splendid early-days fics like these anymore.
A good read :ajsmug:

This was nice and sweet.

This was very heartwarming and sweet, but we know from canon Trixie didn't learn her lesson until much later. Still, great story!

This is actually a lot closer to what I thought about Trixie early on - all things considered, before the {in my opinion, at least} contrived revenge scheme in the Magic Duel, Trixie didn't really do anything worse than showing up the remane five after they willingly stepped up to the challenge. Being a magic school reject and what she did with it is also a nice touch, as I imagine most unicorns dreamed of getting accepted there just as most pegasi wanted to be Wonderbolts.

So, on one hand, I'm kinda sad they didn't take Trixie in this direction, but then again, then we wouldn't have the delicious rivalry between the two that we have now either. I guess it just goes to show you can't have it all.

This is written so well! I guess I kinda like Trixie in this story. Will there be a sequel to this one? I'd like to see how will they blend.
