I have no heart and my avatar makes everything sound sexual. Also, It's pronounced "sam-ee".

Moondancer takes a break from her research on High Energy Magic to check what Canterlot has to offer: watching a charity boxing match with her friends, meeting some new ponies, and making some bad decisions. Also, kirin poetry.

Explicitly set in the same universe as Limelight

God, this was friggin' brilliant. :D Funny, some good action in the match there. Just all-around a great read.

Is this a spiritual successor to Way to go, Minuete? I'll read it either way, but the name does remember me of it...

There are a few similarities, but I'd say it's more subtle.

I assume that Moondancer does actually know that "gigathaums per hour" and "gigathaum hours" aren't the same thing, but just can't be bothered to explain it to Cayenne :)

“That’s what I told Moondancer in the Magic Elementary when she changed a bully into a locker and shoved another bully into it,”

Thanks, I didn't have enough nightmares

The lights flashed; a large spotlight focused on the way to the ring, revealing the huge silhouette of Limestone Pie who marched towards the arena, glaring at the audience. She wore a sickly green robe and protective padding on her front hooves.

Is my subconscious secretly commissioning you or something? :rainbowhuh:

Charge Carrier was a

cutie pie?

And trust me, she’s actually stronger than Limestone.

This is my headcanon too! I like to think that Marble is ungodly strong, but nobody usually realizes it. :twistnerd:

Well, I guess Cayenne isn't very bright (though she needs money for that Princess Dress).

Thanks, I didn't have enough nightmares

I'm pretty sure everyone thought Moondancer was a cute kid, until it turned out she could come up with dark magic without even having to "borrow" grimoires from the restricted section of the library.

Is my subconscious secretly commissioning you or something? :rainbowhuh:

If so, it doesn't pay. Also, if you're interested, there's that artist called pugilismx. Their art mostly involves boxing.

cutie pie?

:rainbowlaugh:
Hmm, now when I think about it, Charge Carrier is probably in the right age range for Moondancer to have a crush on (that is, somewhat younger than Apple Polish. Who, to think about it, didn't change much between her appearances in the flashback in Cutie Mark Chronicles and in the audience in The Washouts, even though it must've been about two decades).

This is my headcanon too! I like to think that Marble is ungodly strong, but nobody usually realizes it. :twistnerd:

Those who realise that probably suddenly find themselves a few towns away. But at least Marble apologises if she, for example, punches a hole in the wall.

I only threw up after my exam, when I managed to leave the hall.

"Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle threw up over reality itself and got personal lessons from Celestia out of it."
"Bitter?"
"Amused, really."

The bit with the ten-gigathaum-hour experiment was amazing. Ah, the joys of high-energy magic.

I do love the interactions between the Canterlot friends. Anyone in Twilight's peer group is bound to be dangerously intelligent.

Are kirin geishas a thing now?

The bully-in-bully spell is a fantastic mental image, and I thank you for it. (Less so the dispelling. And the organs. :fluttershyouch:)

Berry and Limestone as sobriety buddies, complete with Limestone being Ruby's honorary aunt? I quite like it.

Fantastically brutal fight, and the following pub crawl was a hilarious cooldown. I'm quite enjoying this series. Looking forward to whatever else you have in store for this continuity.

I guess now it'd have to be a Marble fic. Or Maud and Limestone talking about poetry with kirin mares (or rather, Maud talking poetry and Limestone getting increasingly confused).

I enjoyed this a lot

Though I would really like to see the Pie sisters discussing poetry with the kirin mares, and since the title mentioned it, I was a little sad that didn't happen here.

Thanks for writing this!

“Becoming a half-burned magical zombie still counts as surviving. And apparently one of them managed to write a doctorate after that.”

Again do you want a Lich? BECASE THAT'S HOW YOU GET A LICH.

“Stranger danger?” Ruby asked, looking at Moondancer. “Eh, not my type.”

Apparently she needs a different adult.

I guess being a lich is the coolest thing ever for pony scientists.

9975542
Apparently so.

Don't know why they wanna be a rotting corpse but whatever.

9975545
It means they did some cool magic. Normal ponies don't get it (also, I wonder if they get offended when someone calls them zombies).

TThe New Crop
With the Apple family deep in debt, Big Mac climbs into the ring once again to save the farm. Now all that’s between him and the two-thousand-bit winner’s purse is some unicorn named Blueblood. Things are about to get ugly.

The really surprising thing is Blueblood being into boxing, I'd say...
