When you make a mistake, it hurts. When you try to apologize, it can hurt even more. When Gabby Gums made a mistake, she–or, rather, they–ran from it. This is what followed. AU "Ponyville Confidential" ending.
When the Cutie Mark Crusaders realized the error of their ways in the Gabby Gums incident, they made it clear to Ponyville how sorry they all were. An apology letter was printed for the final Gabby Gums article, apologies were made, and punishment dealt towards the blackmailing Diamond Tiara.
But what if it didn't happen that way?
Overwhelmed by guilt and convinced that the town they call home doesn't want them anymore, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo submit their apology letter and bid the town a sad farewell, vanishing from the streets without any further comment. Shocked and consumed by guilt, their friends and families start a mad search to find the little fillies and bring them home. Meanwhile, in the Everfree Forest, the Crusaders themselves find that running away is much more painful–and dangerous–than they had expected.

The shows set of events actively had Rarity being fairly nice to Sweetie Belle. Rarity was the only main 6 member to actually talk it out with her sister. Even though Rarity has the most to be mad about since it was her diary that was printed and everything else was just speculation and conjecture.
Rarity reacted in a manner befitting an adult. I'm kind of hoping that the story will have a bit of that rather than the main 6 just plunging off the deep end like the Rainbow and Twilight.

Actually, I knew nothing about that story at the time I wrote this. Waspinator331 asked for someone to write this fic in his stead, and I offered to be the one to do it. He told me what he wanted, and I'm doing whatever I can to do it right.

This incident is another example of why I'll NEVER be friends with any of them. We can only imagine how the Princesses would react if they were to find out about the townsfolk's atrocious actions & behavior's towards the CMC's despite it was their own doing for wanting more until it was TARGETING them. ESPECIALLY the so-called ELEMENT BEARER'S.
If Rainbow was caught doing what she did to them on our world, she would be arrested and charged with child abuse.
Twilight would most likely lose touch with Celestia.
Applejack and Big Mac would receive a tongue lashing from Granny Smith
Angel would be kicked against a wall and knocked unconscious.
And the rest of the town folk would be poisoned with toxic gas.
