Quit writing such fantastic stories Slorg

Good start. Now, I believe a certain master of Chaos would be laughing right about now!

Slorg, this is shaping up to be exceptionally adoracute. The bees are killing me. More please!

Little did they know that Sweetie Belle's new ability to speak every language would spell doom for Equestria. For one night, upon falling asleep, Sweetie began sleep-talking in both the Black Speech of Boardor and Deep R'lyehian, unknowingly summoning the forces of both the dread Sowron and Great C'thulhu right into the heart of Ponyville. The ensuing fight between the Boarc armies and the legions of Fishponies wiped the tiny town off the map.

And that's how Equestria was unmade.

As a fellow frog I wholeheartedly approve of this story.

Arrived because the cover art was intriguing. Stayed because the adorableness killed me, and I am unable to leave my position. Send help.

Another brilliant chapter. I loved the ants. Gotta admit, I'd probably have done the same and simply sat and listened to them.

I almost wish I could, then maybe I could convince them not to invade my kitchen in the summer.

Haha! What a cute and fun story so far! She's become the ultimate dictionary! I love it. Definitely going to track this one.

Twilight's never going to let go of her after this! :twilightsheepish:

YASSS!! a new chapter!! yay plz continue this :D

"How did you only get one muffin if you used a full cup of sugar and two cups of flour? It doesn't make any sense!"

Y'know, I was honestly wondering the same thing. Thanks, Twilight.

Very interesting premise, I'll be sure to keep a eye on this one.

I was wondering about the quantities myself...

Let's see where this story goes...

6806838 It is possible... but few would dare to consume the final result, lest their minds be destroyed... :fluttershbad:

She wasn't sure what she would do if some giant creature, maybe a hydra or something, followed her around and suddenly said, "Hello."

Hydra head #1, "Hello my dear little filly! You look absolutely scrumptious!"

Hydra head #2, "Would you mind it terribly if we were to eat you alive?"

Hydra head #3, "Now, I expect it to sting a bit, but we really do need to 'share' you amongst ourselves so that we all get a piece."

Hydra head #4, "I like marmalade!" :derpytongue2:

Hydra heads 1-3 roll their eyes.

Sweetie discovers that simply because you can talk to something doesn't mean it's actions will automatically become beneficial to you... If anything, it just means that now it can give you a verbal reason for brutally murdering and devouring you. :unsuresweetie:

:trollestia:

"Controlling Our Destiny," Sweetie muttered, her eyes fixated on the strange runes before her. "A Selection of Magic From the Greatest of the Dragon Lords."

The greatest dragon lords were later taken out by a hobbit and a guy with a black arrow. The not-so-great dragon lords left were so humiliated that they just gave up the whole superiority thing and sat around stuffing their faces with gems all day. :trollestia:

This is a great story! Keep it up

6811508 Bastard! I don't want to stay dead! Who's gonna write my stories now?

6811512 Now we just need someone to do a short animation of Sweetie staring at ants with this playing.

I like it! Please keep going on this story.

Wow, incredible. I love the origin of Sweetie's new talent. It's mundane on the one hand, but has incredible implications on the other. That's probably the idea though. Wait now, is Twi gonna take Sweets to see Celestia or something now? Heh heh. Just kidding.

Sweetie frowned. "No. I don't want to go see the princess. Discord was right,

You know, the instant anypony says the words, "Discord was right", they REAAAAAALLY should take some time to reconsider their course of action.

Let's see: 1) deciding to take the advice of least trustworthy character in the entire story as well as 2) refusing to go ask the expert in whatever matter is happening for advice.

*slow clap* Congrats Sweetie, you're already half-way down the road to guaranteed disaster! :trollestia:

Eh... this was more interesting when Sweetie could just talk to animals. Automatically understanding any magic ever, and suddenly being able to cast whatever spells she reads robs this story of a lot of the charm I thought it was going to have.

6936702 There are large implications there, but this chapter clearly shows that Sweetie doesn't want to go down that path. I was certain I made that brutally clear when she flat-out tells Twilight "No."

6936748
So she isn't going to use the spellbook Twilight gives her either? In that case why even give her the ability?

It could just be a case of misplaced expectations, but I thought the story was going to be Sweetie traveling to save the Frog kingdom, overcoming difficulties with nothing but her wits and ability to speak to anything. Having her capable of not just reading any spell, but casting anything she can read ruins that a bit. Even if she only carries a book of beginner spells that's still more than enough magic to fix the most problems she'll encounter.

Also, if a character is deliberately set up to be powerful then artificially weakened, that annoys me a bit.

6936943 You should probably read one of my other stories, Allure. Then you'll get an idea of what Sweetie's going to have to deal with.

If you really want to know what this setup is all about without waiting (which you should do) or reading anything else, then here you go: We already know Sweetie isn't so sure about magic now. However, as you've said, the easy answers to a lot of her problems are going to be sitting there in that little book. Part of the reason there's a drama tag will be Sweetie's struggles with trying to understand what is happening around her without resorting to magic. At the same time, she's really going to need to figure out when to rely on her ability to speak with anything, and when she'll need to find some other method of overcoming an obstacle. A major theme to this story will be understanding, and just what it means to understand something. For example, she completely understood the magic behind casting the scrying spell, but she didn't understand that she shouldn't be casting it until she had already done so.

I plan for the story to balance between good, lighthearted fun with her animal scenes, and a bit of drama here and there as she tries to understand what she should do and how she should do it.

I hope that clears up your expectations.

Well, since it's proven to be real, it shouldn't really be considered a "malady," should it?

What should she do about it? Well...maybe help Fluttershy at her job or something? I don't know, it doesn't seem all that bad...yet.

Well...now THIS could be dangerous.

¿Is every animal in the Universe of this story sapient?

Sweetie Belle supports the unjust imprisonment of froggy kind! She sides with the xenophobic ponies!

Amphibian Lives Matter!

:trollestia:

Sweetie Belle nooooo, bust that froggy out of jail!

Free the frog, free the frog!

A great little chapter!

For the glory of ant-kind!

Edit: Was Discord making a subtle 4th wall break there? It appeared so.

I love how you portray Twilight. Also that ending.:rainbowlaugh:

Now just imagine what mowing the lawn would sound like...
