It's going to be a good day when I wake up to a new chapter/chapters of Project Horizons
7176454 24 hours later IV READ TO chapters AND THARS STILL MORE ITS KILLING ME
Whooooo! TANKS! I love tanks... a lot... thank you for tanks, didn't expect that!
I am pretty sure... Vector-Brony drew that scene above, haha.
Damn good job!
Tmw rhe fanfic you are planning is similar to best fic
Stable 90
What? Blackjack is related to.. Dawn is.. Glory.. the Core.. not negotiating first.. Caprice.. that tank..
What the fuck is wrong with the Harbringers? They send hitmen like squads before even trying negotiations? One live would not matter if it meant how many other lives saved huh? How one live would not matter in the at most possible future that is so envisioned. How one live, perhaps two lives, or three lives, or four lives, or five lives, or ten lives, or twenty lives, or thirty lives, or forty lives, or fifty lives, or hundreds of lives, thousands of lives does not matter to achieve this idealistic vision of peace? That the lives in the present would not wish to be a part of the future? That these lives in the Harbringers' eyes have no place in the future world? Is that really peace? Does the ends really justify the means in compromising your own virtues? Salvation, a huh.. you can't save them all pisspot, but you can do better than that. Truly, you are doing this wrong.
Nice chapter!! So many twists and stunning things!
But still ... R.I.P Caprice!
I hate it when nice background characters have to go. :(
what anime was the tank scene from?
eh, dosent matter much. not when there is so much tank and duce and harbingers then explosions then exploding blackjack and toodley fuckpies up celestias flaming rear end this chapter was awsome!!

oh god now i can inmagen an TANK skreming CUUUUUUUNNNTTTTT!!!!!!!!! i LOVE IT!!! oh and the core plannig inailate all remaining life in equestria
It wasn't the tank fight that got me eyerolling, it was Blackjack's speech there at the end. ...Forgetting to carry the one is a mistake. What that sick fuck did, and then continued to do... nope, sorry, that's beyond 'mistake'. If she can't see the difference between that and gassing a bunch of plagued cannibals... well, she didn't inherit brains from Twilight, that's for damn sure. I'd swear the Wasteland would teach even the dumbest pony that the world isn't black and white. Lumping them both together as the same sort of 'monster'... much more cliche than the tank fight was cheesy. I'd like to say I was surprised at Deus still being around, but uh... not too much. The story has spent so much time throwing sympathy his way that seeing him back was... well, not expected per se, but hardly a shock.
Speaking of throwing sympathy his way... not getting to see Twist... no. Seriously, fuck him. Twist was the victim; if she doesn't want to see her rapist, that's her right. She gets to reclaim some power over her life as a basic step in recovering from that kind of attack. And uhhh... given what he continued to do with it, I don't think letting him keep his dick was a positive; seriously Blackjack, he was trying to kill you, maybe after raping you; don't apologize for defending yourself. And what, would he have been somehow worse without it? Crazier, more murderous? I'll roll those dice. Frankly, he never should have existed in the first place. Planning phase meeting: 'Let's six million dollar man this rapist, but let him keep his dick.' 'Are you clinically insane? Let's... NOT do any of that.' 'Nah, we're doing it.' '...' Of course, one could make the argument that Blackjack saying all that is what saved her life there, and they'd be right. If she were the manipulative sort, I'd be willing to credit that she played up her own sympathies towards him to convince him to stop fighting. Buuuut... that's not how her thought process works. She fully believed every word... ah well.
Okay, now that that's out of the way... the Dawn situation. I knew she had to have something to do with the Core. The timing was way too suspect. The closed eyes thing was like this sign that 'she's planning something, the windows to her soul are shuttered to hide her plotting' ...or something less idiotic sounding. The cyberpony thing though... well okay then. Also... more fingers... yeesh I didn't expect this much pro-human schlock outside of HIE. Jarring, but amusing, and to be fair hers sounded more like Griffin claws. What more to say... other than a new challenger appears. I suppose we needed one? Okay not really, but the tempo supported the notion we'd have one. Cognitum, eh? I've seen that name in comments and such, but I know next to nothing. Good... and the little hint we got about the Core... metal and gore, was it... from Rampage coming out of there. Yeah, looking forward to seeing that after so much build up. Speaking of Rampage, this battle saw the return of the filly with the Ripper. Thumbs up.
The ancestry thing. Eh, we already knew from memory orbs; this was no surprise. The door in Tenpony not opening in the first place was the surprise. I assumed at the time that it was a combination of her magic being gone and pushing the door with a prosthetic hoof. No magical signature, no genetic material contacting the surface... whatever sensors controlled the lock had nothing to go on. No one spoke up because they either didn't want her to open it or knew she didn't want to. But this was much better. Too bad the story marched on before we could get a good hug between Blackjack and P-21 over the whole thing. Thanks, Dawn ...
51 was aptly named... if anything, it was an amazing day. Despite the Goddess (who became far less sympathetic with the whole mind rape/control thing... just in time to get blown up soon by the hero of another story, nice...) hanging over them, Lacunae and Blackjack had some great scenes there. Scotch got a non-toilet cutie mark, Blackjack and Glory reached a reconcile-ish understanding... Sooo this chapter as a follow up was no real surprise. Back to it, Blackjack... ante up and prepare to cry. Hopefully you'll get a breather at some point and Glory can 'punish' you for all the Trouble again. Hmm... Morning Dash? It has the initials MD, which suit her. Rainbow Glory? A bit overbearing, but not bad. Eh, maybe just stick with Glory. ...You hear that, Blackjack? STICK.... WITH.... GLORY....
Forward, march.
Oh Deus, you poor poor pony. If only i was there, then we could scream 'CUNT!!!!!' together.
Thank you, BlackJack! You're finally learning.
Also, I liked the redemption for Deus. I think that was a nice way to end the chapter.
never expected Deus Ex to make a return, yet im not surprised that he came back as a fricking TANK! nice. on a different note
Achievement Unlocked:
Gu3ss wh0's b4ck b1tch3s!
At first I was wondering why a zebra tank would have an Eyes Forward Sparkle, but after its explained that the tank was modified to hold and by operated by Deus' brain, it became believable that features such as an E.F.S. would've been added by the Harbingers.
I wish I could say that several things came as a surprise to me, but I had a hunch about nearly all of it. v.v Blackjack truly being related to Twilight, though it was nice to see why the door test had failed. Deus being the tank, as soon as I read the part with Caprice my hunch was formed fully. Dawn being the prophet, I had a hunch she was the moment she showed, and I am glad to see I was correct... in a bit of a weird twisted glad.
What was upsetting was... not Sky Striker, sorry I'm bad at remembering names, I hope he lives... curses might happen. XD Just kidding, but I hope he doesn't die. >.<
I've seen a few Animes, and I'm not sure which one that tank fight was from. This is what I get for mainly watching fantasy genres as of late. :\
On a better note: I love this story, it is filled with well fleshed out character, motives and excellent fights... it can get... a little dark at times, but that is no reason to hate something. Right? I say not. Anywho I can't decide whether I should read the next chapter or get some sleep... who needs sleep. On to the next! ^^
7887701 Well, you weren't the only one. As soon as it was mentioned that the Harbingers' leader was a pegasus, I went, "I bet it's Dawn. That explains a lot," Then there was all that stuff pointing to Blackjack being Twilight's descendant and all that other stuff about her friends keeping secrets from her. The Deus thing I didn't really think about until Caprice said her line, but as soon as I heard it I knew who it was.
It feels nice figuring out the mysteries before they're revealed, so I liked this chapter a lot.
...I never really figure these things out beforehand (I forget to check under E a lot), though I do have a few guesses for who Blackjack saw after her second death.
7949797 Yeah, I know what you mean. I try to piece things together, but often forget about 'Awareness: It was under E' and can only stick to hunches... I've been reading this for a little over two/three months now, possible four. This weekend I am going to finish... or die trying? :\ My thoughts on the "Harbinger's prophet is a pegasus" I was something like, "it is Dawn, or that Pegasus named Haringer... since it would be ironic for Harbinger to be a Harbinger." :D
I KNEW IT, I KNEW DAWN WAS THE PROPHET, I CALLED IT TWO CHAPTERS AGO, I AM SO GOOD AT THIS :D
Man, put this high on my list of favorite chapters, and not just because I finally hit my role in the audiobook. :3 Lots of answers, a new villain (admittedly, I was sort of spoiled on that from working on the audiobook, but not enough!), more stories of Glorymom and friends (I am really looking forward to seeing King Awesome now!), and a big fight with just about everyone BJ's made friends with, locally anyway.
I saw Sky Striker's... well, I guess he's not officially dead yet, but I kinda figured that was gonna happen. Did not see what happened to Dawn. Also did not see the reckoning with Deus (minus being somewhat spoiled on it by comments somewhere), but damned if that's not one of the most satisfying scenes in this entire story. Just, her being able to say to him what she did, commiserating and empathizing with him. It's what he needed two hundred years ago, and it's not even as much as he deserves, but it felt so good.
I know this is gonna sound weird considering he's a major villain (though misunderstood), but I really like Deus. This scene involving the tank and Blackjack's speech just made my entire week.
haHAAAA! Loved the Ghost in the Shell scene right there - say what you want in the author comments, the moment worked really well. I wonder when Doof will make his last appearance to ultimately redeem himself...
So now he's technically a dreadnought, right?
8082715
this one's got it!
maybe
i'm so glad to find out where he actually hid it
that's so cruel i love it
Wow. Talk about luck.
She must have been born under a blue moon with a four leaf clover hanging over her head.
Pretty much any number of things could have prevented her being born to begin with, it's a miracle she was ever around.
And she's not even just the defendant of one ministry mare, but two!
Apple and Sparkle blood flow through your veins, Blackjack!
First...Twilight and Big Mac was a fluke.
Fluke #1: Twilight was tricking Mac by disguising as Maripony.
Fluke #2: Marigold may not have accepted. And if Big Mac continued on, the nukes would have killed them all or she would end up in Unity.
Fluke #3:"by a fluke" she had been visiting a friend when the end of the world came. She could have gone literally anywhere else during any over time. Then died in balefire as a result.
Fluke #4: she was supposed to end up in Stable 90. That was what was preset. Instead she gets to the convenient closest Stable and passes the baby foal to Tarot...then goes and dies on a Cliffside near where Spike now lives.
Hmm...so Blackjack technically met her...carrier.
Right before she attemtpted suicide with a safety locked gun.
Fluke #5: SAFETY LOCKED!
Who puts on their safety in the Wasteland!?
Enemies stay closer
Nope. Pip already claimed that one.
I'm pretty sure your virtue is Mercy
Mr.Topaz...I think LittlePip killed him.
And no boss loot!!!
I don't k ow...I kinda liked it. It was great and, for lack of a better word, animatic.
Honestly when I heard her doing all those moves I just thought "zebra" and left that as my explanation.
Now...if she suddenly started throwing around Gitsuga Tensho's and Kamehameha's, we would have problems.
But excellent twist on Deus. I kept thinking the guy was dead and gone, and would never have thought that Mr.Tank was actually him.
I just thought it was an extremely moody, extremely pissed, extremely belligerent tank with anger issues and too much ammo to burn out on temper tantrums.
Wonder how Cogniso or whatever her name was will handle this?
Finally...Dawn.
Dang man. Complete blindside there.
Trottenheimer, sounds like Hoemheimer to me. (sorry, I just started watching Fullmetal Alchemist). I'm still confused about project horizon. Wasn't it suppose to be like a base on the moon?
8121475
He's a reference to J. Robert Oppenheimer, the "father of the atomic bomb"
8428221
does that mean folly is Euclid's C finder?
GHOST IN THE SHELL, ITS GHOST IN THE SHELL, THE FINAL FIGHT FROM GHOST IN THE SHELL, I LOVE GHOST IN THE SHELL...i may have gotten a bit carried away.
Wait... *goes back and reads chapter 35*
Oh you sneaky motherfucker.
(Partway through chapter)
Huh... was anyone else almost certain the reason for the doors not opening was going to be Blackjack having touched it with her cybernetic limb instead of her own flesh and blood?
8806918
It was a good fake-out. Also, I imagine there were other people besides me who wanted her to not be descended from Twilight; in my case, I was hoping Rarity.
8646260
YEYEYEYEYE, I'm right there with you! I'd know the description of that scene from anywhere!
8607576
No, that gets found by Puppy Smiles in Fallout Equestria: Pink Eyes.
I ship blackjack and P-21
top 10 saddest anime moments
Soowerfuu sad
Jesus Chris a lot happened in this chapter, and I loved every bit of it.
Whew, that was -awesome-. Things were tense there for a good while...even a good day can't last forever in the wasteland. The end part too with the flips and the tank and the hatch. Totally reminds me of Ghost in the Shell, particularly running up the stairs and destroying the family tree...and even then, despite all that, what comes out in the end isn't the ability to shoot magic bullets or do things with over the top firepower, but empathy and understanding. Damn good showing, I must say.
Ok, im so in love with this. The Twilight descendant, Twilight's study, Dawn and Deus all were great mysteries I am greatful for. It gimes me so much joy dicovering these you can't imagine.
What's the anime this is referencing

Why aren't you apologizing to her?? Your mostly at fault here
Sound like good odds to me
Looks like their bet will come true after all
You did the same shit again!? What the fuck!!!
It hasn't even been a day yet, Rover is gonna be so mad..
Totally not the last time we see Deus. For better or for worse.
Deus was the tank? That's nuts. Glad she won using the power of friendship. Also what anime was the tank scene a reference to? Fullmetal Alchemist? I mean I feel like there's a lot of references to that show but I'm not too sure.
11443939
The tank scene was inspired by the first "Ghost in the Shell" movie cause there is a scene near the end of that film where the main character called the "Major" ripped into a tank in the same way as BJ does... with similar results.
10775854
Technically, she kept her promise as she fought off a tank and didn't intend to lose her legs in the process.
