Finally Lighthooves is dealt with. Such a angsty thorn in the side. There's been enough death and destruction already over the Tower. Those poor cyberponies at the end, lied to about Lighthooves' cause. Those upgrades though, not without some cost of feeling 'normal'. And did she smash the damn machine to pieces right after telling another pony not to use it? I guess she needed the upgrade though to reach the top of the tower. Blackjack is freckn' pregnant? Seriously? How.. you know what, I don't want to know for sure yet. Now I am beginning to see how a sequel could come together.

I have to say, after reading a chapter to get the jist of people's thoughts it is entertaining to read through the subreddit /r/falloutequestria's Project Horizons Chapter (62.2) posts where people talk about the chapter highlights. Some of the reactions are very amusing.

Both sound pretty terrible to experience. I accidentally spoilered myself negatively looking at the PH Reddit AMA. Not doing that again . I am not spoiling myself accidentally any more. I would never spoiler Project Horizons to another. Half the experience is reading it yourself.

Oh I remember that well. i was confused at first how everyone in the Wasteland could hear it. Then I was reminded about the broadcaster and Blackjack being not-a-smart-pony. Morning Glory is still mad I am sure. While that card Stygius took off with Whispher, will we ever see them again? Maybe, I cannot be definitely sure.

I am just now caught up on this fic after a month of reading and I am very pleased I decided to go through with it and catch up.

With the original Fallout: Equestria I had a hard time continuing on it. The fic really had its ups and downs for me, but eventually I got through it. On Project Horizons I had a similar problem BUT that was only for the beginning of the fic. By around chapter 20 I really started to engage in the it.

I hate spoilers. I really do, but spoilers are what got me onto this fic. First I was curious about Discord in the Fallout Equestria universe. I saw he was in Horizons but that wasn't enough so I looked at some pictures of Horizons. Good ol' Cyberpony Blackjack was what got me to give this fic a try. And now I just can't wait for more.

I adore your villains. A villain that you can see his/her motives and understand them is always a better villain. I also love the sympathy that BJ always feels for them, though the only villain I really felt sorry for was Gorgon. Rampage said that he was nice to her and there was that letter and everything, Gorgon seemed like a nice guy... probably. ( just ignore all the crashed statues, but then again not he's the brightest so he could have been manipulated easily)

A problem with the little crosser things with Little pip and such is that yah can't do much. Like in Maripony, BJ was going to stand there, that was obvious because nothing happened in Kkat's story involving Pip being attacked by her. Also things like that conversation with BJ and Homage. Previously I believed that Homage after hearing about Arbu talked about it as DJ pon3 soon after it happened. But this tells me that BJ had to help her out of that crying sadness hole first. I feel as if her needing BJ's help takes away from Homage as a character. However I do like most your expansion on the world and what we know about the ministries and such.

I find BJ to be pleasantly similar to Little Pip. They have close beliefs but have different personalities.

BlackJack's friends are also incredibly flushed out and interesting. My favorite character is defiantly Rampage: I always love and can relate more to that "do what I want" attitude like in Rampage and Discord.

Well, I wanted conviction; I got it. Thank you. It's funny, I almost called out Blackjack as a coward for her 'not an executioner' recurring bit in my last comment. Actually, the comment originally did while talking in general about characters lacking drive of their own (all just swept along... which I still ended up touching on), but I was having issues with spoilers not getting covered up and tried refreshing the page. Protip: don't do that, it erases what you've typed. Roughly 800 words burned, oops. Hence my note about concerning myself less with them, unless they were specific and pertaining to within a chapter or two of where I'm commenting on. Anywho...

Yeah, this was great. We still have an ambiguous end here with... how it ended there... but it was an epic, ambiguous end. Further, it segued right into the next arc (about as literally as could be, really). I've truly enjoyed most of the characters in this arc with Chicanery, Lighthooves, and Storm Chaser topping the list. Well, Lighthooves was already a fixture, but yeah. I honestly didn't much care for him till relatively recently when he started to feel like more fleshed out. That Princess Bride reference awhile back with him felt undeserved... but more recently the Sephiroth one just made me smirk.

Rampage... I love you. I thought of Futurama more than Warhammer with the painting it red thing... plus the hookers comment, but either one works. I know I said I have her as most likely candidate for the traitor (that one's still hanging over our heads, hmm...), and I stand by that. Takes nothing away from her crowning moments. Eh, plus Pinkie has a point about betrayal not being all there is to somepony. Just.... trust is no small matter to regain, so... well, I look forward to seeing how that all goes down. And speaking of traitors... hmm... we already know Rainbow is avoiding Spike... wonder how she'll react when she learns Fluttershy is still around...

And.... the upgrades. Meh... I don't really have an issue . It's the second to last major, specific spoiler I had concerning this fic, likely garnered from some comment over at Fo:E; I really don't recall. The last being something about going to the moon for some reason. The Joker reference felt well-placed. I do wonder what anypony was thinking with that project though. How could turning a pony into that not have a fair shot at driving them insane? I'm sure some variation on 'war is hell' is my answer though, so bleh. I've heard the old horrors... the tales of red and black alicorn OCs... but I'm too new to the community to really have any exposure. Still, I trust Blackjack to pull it off with a minimum of 'goddammit, Blackjack' comments from me while reading. I think I'm at 30-ish total... conservatively speaking. That chess analogy.... I'm fairly certain the purple unicorn in her head facehoofed at the same time I -palmed.

I went daaaaaaw at that part and almost cried.. ohh so sweet and yet such an sad part of the story.. *sniff*

Holy damn... this chapter was insane on so many levels. Might even be my favorite, really. More upgrades and, somehow, more crazy stuff happening. Beyond that, I really think Boo is the best character in this whole story. This chapter took her beyond adorable tendencies and cranked them up to eleven. Weapons grade cute, and now she fucking talks! I swear, I'm going to have a heart attack if I hear 'Bwackjack' many more times. I can't wait for more.

Wow, that was quite a trip. I like how quiet and personal Lighthooves's death is. I mean, he's always been this vague background threat, something that needs to be dealt with eventually. But as she got closer to his defeat, she uncovered more of his motivation, and just how personal everything is for him. So a distinctly non-epic death is fitting, and oddly cathartic.

So like, is this just The Book of Blackjack Loses All Her Weapons? Because I'm pretty sure she lost everything twice. <.< I'm really sad about the sword. Nice that she found a solution to the 99 problem and it wasn't a bitch.

So, that scene where she gets the upgrades... I kind of knew this was coming because I went looking for fanart last week, and of course spoilers everywhere. Congrats on weaseling your way into an alicorn OC! (I say 'weasel' because you took the most roundabout route, something I've had planned for a story of my own, so I know where you're coming from. :B) Anyway, that scene was a good example of too much happening. First she's turning into an alicorn, then she's pregnant, then Boo fucking talks I was so right about that. :D But yeah, too much to take in and process; at least it was for her, too.

And on that note, Blackjack watching the machine take her face off is about he grimmest, darkest thing I have ever seen, certainly in this fic. c.c I mean, "I'm going to stay awake for surgery because I don't have time to wait for anesthetic to wear off" is a very practical reason for badassery. But that was just... I mean, I have to eat sometime! D: Kiiind of unnecessary!

I do hope she's able to give Glory a new wing somehow, at least. <.< Also, surrogacy spell. And what's with the "Boojack" comment? Is Boo made out of BJ's genetic material? Is that why BJ was dreaming about being her sister?

Last comment, because this is getting long: I'm very glad Rainbow is a badass. I don't think I could have handled it if she went down like a chump. Taking out missiles single-hoofedly, engaging a cyberpony one-on-one: she's fucking awesome, and she was the best part of this book. :D

I'm gonna take a break for about a month (or two c.c) to catch up on some stuff, but then I'm gonna finish this! Stay tuned for book review sometime this week, hopefully.

Blackjack: the anti-Lonely Island (ft. T-Pain).

Lighthooves: This was a case where I originally had a somewhat negative reaction to the scene, not because it was bad, but because outside expectations had made me expect one thing, and it didn't really happen. Basically, that it was going to be when BJ really went executioner. That's not something I ever particularly wanted to see, granted, but it can feel weird having expectations knocked over, especially if it led you to focus on specific aspects and give them more weight than you should have.

<- Implying there's just one book where she loses all her weapons.

Rampage confused Boo for Blackjack since she was wearing her armor, which covered most of the body, face, and head. Figure she was playing off of that.

RD badass: IIRC, bringing Rainbow in was one of the big controversial moves of book 4, along with Shattered Hoof Ridge, alicornization, and the Legate (especially the original version of the scene). Glad it worked out for you. As for what she's been doing--who do you think you're dealing with here? RD always dresses innever leaves you hanging when shit goes down.

And it's amazing what little details I miss in the audiobook. >.< I remember the line of dialogue right after that part about the armor, but I missed that line itself because I was too busy freaking the fuck out.

Yeah, know how that goes with the audio books. Noise gets in the way, and it doesn't feel worth it to rewind to get a sentence or two; or I get distracted and it goes on without me like text doesn't. Always there's a trade-off. Least it's a more pleasant case than getting distracted by anger or frustration--though come to think of it, there's kind of a plus side to that with audio rather than text for me, since it keeps going which can help bring me back rather than grinding me to a halt for a long time like the situation can with text.

Shouldn't EC-1101 default to Rainbow Dash? Even 200 years later she is still one of the ponies on the top if the list. If I remember correctly the program attempted to make the ministry mares the rulers of equestria but was unable to reach any of them. Applejack was locked away, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity were confirmed dead, I think Twilight was presumed dead as well. Rainbow Dash on the other hand was never found, so the program eventually gave up looking for her and moved on. Now the program is leading Blackjack down the list of candidates, but then she bumped into one of the top candidates, one of the ministry mares. Shouldn't the program recognize Rainbow Dash and crown her as Luna's successor and the rightful reciever of the EC-1101?

Either the program is so stiff that as soon as it classified RD as "missing" it disqualified her from the list even if she turned up later. Or, Echo is keeping it from connecting to Rainbow Dash because he has to make sure it goes to someone else i stead.

Maybe if it finds all the rest of the ponies on the list dead it will start over and look for Rainbow again. Or get creative and name Psychoshy as the real heir since she is the closest living relative of the ministry mares.

Another bloody chapter done, and I am that much closer to finishing this wonderful story. This chapter seemed longer than the last... now that I think about it, it is longer. Roughly ten thousand words or so longer.

I was left in constant wonder about what was on that small piece of paper. Fifteen letters, four words; it just never clicked about what it could have been and... I think it made it all the better when it was revealed. "I have a megaspell." It was so simple, yet such intrigue. It is a great example on why this is one of the best stories I've read to date.

The whole redemption theme within the story as a whole has made even the villains become 'great'. It seems, to me, that an important element is also the 'why' of things; why somepony does what they do and the lengths to which they are willing to go to achieve it. It made the moment with Lighthooves far more personal than I would have liked, but being pushed out of comfort is something that is good in the long run of things. The fight was brilliant, too!

Blackjack getting those... things... is honestly fine for me. As long as she doesn't suddenly master flying. The scene in which she got them was... I don't want to think about that again! It was written so well! But it was so bad. Just... ick! Ick ick ick ick! I have to agree with Glory: "Oh, Blackjack..."

That... lovely scene did draw into another. Boo is truly the greatest! I can't wait to see how she continues to progress and improve. Especially with the latest development! And it was quite funny when she was confused for Blackjack because she was wearing her (Blackjack's) armor. I'll be wanting more Boo. Because Boo is best pone in this fic -- she isn't evil (right...?), and she doesn't want to bend the world to her will. She is, simply, the best.

I might not have time to read this tomorrow. But I will give all effort to read it. It has been too enjoyable for me to not do that. Hence, tomorrow or the day after is when I'll be at the next chapter... and the start of the finale arc (also the final one).

Its edges ripped and tore at the sides of the skyscrapers in a scream of metal as it descended. I made out the name, Hurricane , across its bow. As I lay there, only one thought passed through my mind before the ship struck.
