Some good bits in this chapter had me snickering from the much needed comedy.

My, oh how subtle of a reference that I can just nod along with.

Rampage let out a scornful, “Oh, will you two just shut up and fuck already? I’m sure Blackjack would love that too!”
Glory and P-21 gaped at each other, at her, and then at me all in perfect unison. “With her?!” blurted P-21 as Glory gave a scandalized, “With him?!” They concluded with a simultaneously disgusted, “Gross!” The utter similarities between the two had me burst into laughter, and I reached out, grabbed them both in a headlock, and pulled them into a huge hug.

Hilarious, and heartwarming. Expanding horizons can mean more than one thing I suppose.

That ending though, the Society was not Blackjack's problem. Now. It's her problem. Long live the Queen!

Well, it looks like Bj will be able to make those changes to The Society now without having to shoot anybody. That Roseluck Pest Control place was absolutely insane though. Unless she's ever able to stop the power from getting the countless rings no doubt in the area, that place will be a death-trap forever. But overall, damn. This story keeps getting better.

I finished reading this chapter in an impressive ELEVEN HOURS... I need to remember to read, or do anything, when I am not sick and having a hard time keeping concentration. Anyway, Goldenblood lives... I think. The execution is evidence enough. With Spike, or some other dragon breathing fire on him, he travels... somewhere. Perhaps to Celestia?

Oh well, I won't know until I read further, but that will have to wait. I need to rest now, or very shortly.

Blackjack becoming Queen... I'll admit... I... didn't see that one coming. Okay, maybe I did, but not in the way it happened. Well until next chapter. ^^

Okay, so, first off, King Awesome lived up to the hype, I'm happy to say. :) He was kind of every old man stereotype in a single pony, and I was surprised by how little they ended up talking about his friends -- that's been a hallmark of these meetings, after all -- but I can't say I was disappointed. I got serious feels from BJ smooching Gwampa Awesome, there. And I mean, he wasn't around too long, which I think means he's the first of his friends to die, but what was there was good, and good for Blackjack, too.

That said, WHAT IN THE FLYING, BUTTERY HELL JUST HAPPENED? @_@ You get me going WAIT WHAT with fucking zombie Hoity Toity at the end there, and then SUDDENLY QUEEN, BAM, WHOOSH, WHAT THE FUCK. That's certainly a way to end a chapter! XD Also, I cannot believe you're having them go to the Grand Fucking Gala. That's like, the of-coursest thing ever, but I know it happens because lines. :B

Also also, Princess Charm is the best. :V Like, Grace might be the leader the Society needs, but Charm is up there with Charity on my favorite characters list. :D

Yeah, that's true. Guess they're a better vehicle for vicarious snark (and who doesn't wish they could do that sometimes?) since they don't come with with the baggage that is the expectation of being fully socialized.

Also probably helps that it's harder to fall into the SQUID problem when you're 1) a minor side character and 2) have a particular role to fill in a bigger picture, so you have some other development built in from how you relate to the other characters and setting.

“Okay…” I said slowly as I thought it out.  “So... what if you did what you did when I was going to Tenpony to get cyberized?  Hook up my veins to Rampage.  Completely power me down and make me the Wasteland’s biggest paperweight?  Would that work?”

“Oh, I see how it is,” Rampage muttered.  “Make one little crack, and she turns you into life support.”  She rolled her eyes, then caught my concern and snorted.  “Oh, don’t worry.  I’m just pissed at the moment… least I can be of some use.”

It's funny because she makes a valid point.

I really think she was just using them as pesticide/bug traps. Until the megaspells went off, they were strong enough to kill bugs or make ponies who spent all their time working working on them kinda sick, probably wouldn't do enough to stop all bacterial and fungal processes (and that would likely be bad for living plants, anyway, even if it wasn't directly killing them, too).

Wonder how BJ will get out of this situation. (hey call discord. i refuse to believe he's ded)
