Lacunae NO NOT HER TACK ME NOT HER
Shit.
Awww maaan... what a chapter this was... whew, how many chapters are left to go in this story I wonder?
How much more, must dear Blackjack endure, before her journey finally comes to an end...
Carry on Somber, carry on.
Alicorns of unusual size? I don't think they exist.
-sighs- looks like she has the wild wasteland perk.
I remember finding good ol Indy in fallout 3 or new Vegas.
I expected glory or 21 to die but not lacy!
give them to those
as we flipped over
denied to me
FINALLY, yes, not-a-smart-pony. You finally figured it out being a nickname.
hey, she said it
Damn it, this chapter actually summoned tears for me to quietly shed. I was worried for Lacunae and sure enough it was warranted. I will miss her, her personality as the only 'super mutant' like alicorn that Project Horizons has made the reader come to like and care for. It's the small things in live to cherish you know. We cannot dwell on grief of a character's death, but can rather celebrate our memories with them. Oh and that reference to a certain decapitation being easily shrugged off. Not for another character..
Thanks for everything Lacunae!!
R.I.P
It's a cold world....

Lacunae!! This is not what I need before bed! Imma cry now!
mahahahahaha no tears will be Shed as I know a secret

Excuse me while i go kill a small part of myself.
Yeah.... a bit crass how you have Rampage just mock a Hellhound decapitating her while elsewhere, Steelhooves dies the same way.
Honestly, I was right about Lacunae... to quote a certain WoW raid boss: "I.... felt.... NOTHING..." Oh, don't get me wrong; I didn't want this to happen. But it did, and that's that. We'll always have the Gala, and her dancing with Stronghoof. Maybe Psalm can rest... or even go check with Luna about that forgiveness shtick. I dunno that I agree with Blackjack about Lacunae just sort of vanishing from existence. One school of thought is that suffering births a soul... at the least, some of what Lacunae was could easily be with Psalm now. Pretty arrogant to believe that a soul is the sole (heh) providence of those who are born. If nothing of Lacunae's experiences are with Psalm, then how do any experiences anyone has matter? Sure, this is a really grey fic, but that's a bit too far for serious consideration. Ultimately, that's what a soul is: that which exceeds the sum of our parts. Even if Lacunae is an amalgamation of memories and emotions as a foundation... she's still more than that at this point. ...This is me not caring.... I don't! I don't!
The party was great though, going back a chapter. It hit all the right touches and was a really fun read. Blackjack even picked the same regent I would have. I mean, sure, it seemed like the obvious choice, but Blackjack and I don't agree on everything, so... But yeah, Splendid was sounding like a slightly nicer Red Eye, and slippery slopes in the Wasteland are no joke. Charm... yeah... no need to even elaborate on that one. Run, piggy!
All the sex stuff... yep, got my popcorn ready for that bit of dramedy to continue... Glory should be careful what she wishes for though. If the killing joke lives up to its name, it'll wear off when she's in midair or something.
Naturally, this chapter had to follow it ('keep your hooves inside the car at all times, enjoy the ride!'), but at least this inevitable plot point is out of the way. It was a bit annoying going through the motions of 'how would Blackjack kill Littlepip and her friends' and the whole mind control bit, but what can ya do? Between that and the memories complaining about the 'contrivances' and pointlessness of the events back then, all I could do is roll my eyes and muscle through. Also... lest we freakin' forget... Hellhounds were bastards before this latest bomb. Just as I'm shrugging through Blackjack's latest sympathy for the devils... oh, look, Lancer is helping. ...Fucking dammit. Anywho, Rest in Peace, Trixie. Huh... no clue what'll happen from here. Onward into the great unknown then; with her gone, I've got nothing on the upcoming antagonist/s, interesting stuff.
Lacunae!

I am not okay with this.
But besides that, this chapter had me constantly in tears from the mid-section to the end.
I need a moment to compose myself... this chapter was a roller-coaster of emotions(mostly tears) it was awesome, and wonderful. I... oh-boy... what a strong chapter. I feel sad, tearful, inspired, and gay; I do believe this has been one of the greatest chapters I have read. I think this is going to be a far shorter comment than usual, since words aren't going to be adequate to describe this... this harmony, this tapestry.
Tearfully, until next time,
Desh :')
I have a nagging feeling that Lacunae will come back, but for now: Tears with a side of some more tears.
Well, that settles it. I can never be happy again. ;_; Dissolving into motes of light is always a more poignant death than getting shot.
That said, I could have done with the Blade Runner reference in the last paragraph, you absolute monster. :| That's almost as bad as what happened when Calamity met his dad. Which was so bad, I actually can't remember what it was. I've purged it from my mind, but not the hate! D:<
If not for that, though, this chapter would have just been one big "FUCKING FINALLY". I'm so glad the Goddess arc is finally done.
Oh yeah, and "a magic straw that could see through walls" is about the goofiest thing I have ever seen, which means it's horrendously out of place in its scene. <.<

Lacunae's death was one of my favorite scenes in this part of the story. Glad you liked it too except for the parts you
didn'thave almost unparalleled loathing of. :V Though I'm curious what the Blade Runner reference was; afraid I don't know the movie well enough to pick up on it.8040772 Oh. Sorry it was a bad chapter.
8042258
The part about tears in the rain. It's not a direct quote, but it was close enough to make me go oh god dammit. :B
8042329
There is at least one good thing about it, even if that thing is horrendously saaaad. ;_;
8042329
Also, chapter 59 is way making up for this one. :D If there's any one thing that makes this story good, it's your penchant for zebra lore.
7194120 Your profile pic is a spoiler, isn't it?
;-; why would you comment here of all places
Meaty cocks and shining rocks,
Diamonds shaped like stars.
I promise that, no matter what,
No friendship's good as ours.
Bruh, you just gave an immortal night princess mini soul jars.
What did you expect? "Thanks for the morbid gift, Rarity!"?
I really don't have much to say about this chapter other then to comment on that epic explosion and Lacunaes irradiated evolution.
I really hope this doenst turn out like another Steelhooves scenario but, somehow, I imagine that's exactly what this is.
After all, what's the point in making so many memorable characters if you never have to make an elegy for them?
There should be a song to commemorate Lucanae
I believe that that is an album name for Future Loop Foundation, the only reason I know that is because of Submachine: FLF
wow. an in-joke about an in-joke.
"Indiana Jones and the crystal skull" Indy survives a nuke by hiding in a refrigerator. in one of the Fallout games, look in the right place and you will find a refrigerator with a body and a familiar hat...
My god Trixie if you really thing the Elements of Harmony will respond to you then you are... about as delusional as I figured.
Adding everything that makes BJ herself into the mare who was once Psalm. Trixie didn't think this through.
For a second time, farewell Trixie Lulamoon.
I never though I would cry fore the death of the goddess, but I promise I’ll never forget this story or lacunae. I’ll always remember this.
Just came back to read this for the... fifth? sixth? time. Still makes me cry like a bitch. And not just sad crying, like open mouth silent agony crying. That moment with the bobble figures and what remained of Lacunae, oh it's divine sorrow.
I am late coming to this story by the order of several years. But this chapter was riveting. i really enjoyed the metaphor of gravity and the blending of events from FE. We know Blackjack can't stop Littlepip, but the thrill is in the resolution.
Lacunae's defiant speech against her goddess at begging her not to make Blackjack her anti-thesis. Her brief breakaway and surprising grit in combat when the goddess dumps BJ's essence in her and her ultimate sacrifice were stand out moments. I sniffled at the shared 'I love you' and BJ's reflection at the end on the airship. I'll miss Lacunae but couldn't ask for a better send off if this is the end for her.
Re-reading this after a long time and Lacunae's death is as sad as the first time... although i didn't remembered Trixie's memory, that cracked me up, so simple, so sad and the realization on how low se had fell...
Watching the comments i didn't get what they were saying about Rampage but yeah... what a timing for decapitation jokes....

In the end all stories its not about how it ends, but what happens in between
Damnit it hit me even harder the second time.

Absolutely...

"As we flew into Tomorrow."
I wish it was Dealer who warned the group about the Goddess, bue eh Lancer is a less interesting explanation but will do.
Honourable to the end, and the perfect embodiment of the defiance of hope. Rest in peace, Lacunae. If one was ever deserved of earning their own soul, it was you.
So then... does boo get more playmates? 😅🤣
Nooooo!!!!! She was my favorite!!
I dont wanna see her go....

Agreed fullheartedly.
May you find the peace you deserve, Lacunae. You truly was a wonderful pony, even if you wasn't anything more then a collection of memories and emotions.
That was pretty funny
Both Blackjakc and Littlepip lost an important member on the same day. I'm confused though, she did have some semblance of a real pony. She loved Stronghoof, had friends, and a funny sense of humor. Where would her memories go? I thought it would be more like she would give back a the memories and personalities of the other Alicorns and because of her journey and adventures with Blackjack she would retain her own memories. I mean clearly there's been a difference from when we first met her and now. Before she was creepy and quiet and now she gets flustered by Stronghoof and wearing a pretty dress. Aren't these personalities built through the friendship Blackjack has given her? Or were they extentions of Twilights?
