Chapter 13: The Bond between Bros Yugi VS Joey Part 4
Joey took a look around where he was. He noticed Yugi on the other side smiling at him. He then noticed the puzzle around his neck and the bangle on his arm.
"What am I doing with your puzzle Yug? And what's this thing on my arm? I am so confused right now." said Joey.
"Good thing you are back to normal Joey. Now, I can end this. I activate my, trap card, Mystical Refpanel to stop Marik's meteor!" Yugi shouted.
A blue fairy holding the panel appeared. Using the panel the fairy absorbed the meteor. Seto was quite stunned by this.
What does that fool think he is doing? Seto asked himself. By playing that card Yugi is in control of the effects of the magic card. He can either choose to use it on Wheeler, or... Wait! Use it to finish himself off!
Twilight asked, "What's wrong Seto?"
"My back up better be here soon or else we may lose one those two."
"What?!" said everyone else.
"Poor Joey." Serenity whispered.
Suddenly, out of nowhere Trixie was flying through the air on a zip line from the top of the warehouse and kicked the rare hunter guarding Tea in the face! Spike and Twilight were in shock once they recognized who that girl was. They knew it was her by her cutie mark on the skirt she had on. The hunter fell to the ground, and was knocked unconscious. She quickly ran over to Tea, and unlocked her from her prison.
"Once again the Great and Powerful Trixie prevails. Now, go join your friends." the girl said to Tea.
Tea nodded. "Thank you so much ugh..."
"The Great and Powerful Trixie! Did you not hear my name when I said it the first time?"
"Sorry Trixie. Thanks!"
She then ran to the group. Twilight came up to her, and hugged her tightly. Seto quickly stepped on the remote destroying it.
"I am so glad you are alright Tea." said Tristan.
"Me too. Hey, what's that on your finger?" Tea said noticing the ring.
"Oh. It suddenly appeared on the train ride with Serenity. A big blue flash surrounded me, and the next thing I know this was on the finger."
"Something similar happened to me when I let Mokuba escape."
"And something just like that happened to Joey."
"What do this all mean?"
"We will figure that out later. For now, we need to help those two!"
"Right."
Back at the duel Yugi started to cry.
"What's wrong Yugi?" Joey asked.
"I am just so happy that you are back with us Joey. Marik was shown firsthand the power of our bond. Now, it's time for me to repay the favor for you saving me so many times."
"Huh? Wait Yugi!"
"I use my trap card Mystical Refpanel to direct Meteor of Destruction's damage to me!" Yugi shouted with his arms spread out wide.
"No!" shouted Joey.
The panel released a fire blast that hit Yugi directly. His life points dropped to 0. He fell to the ground. The timer was now set to 30 seconds. Joey's box opened in front of him.
"It can't end like this Yugi. It just can't! Wait! That magic card has another effect. That's it! Now, Red Eyes Dragon attack me directly. Wipe out my life points so Yugi's box will open!" Joey said.
The dragon shot a weak fire ball at Joey thus his points dropped to zero too, and on the other side Yugi's box opened.
"Hang on Yugi!" Joey said as he took off the puzzle and duel disk. He grabbed his chain, and prepared to swing over.
"You taught me that you should never ever give up on your friends, and to be strong for those you care about!" Joey said.
As he was saying this, Serenity started to take her bandages off her face. As they fell off she threw them into the wind. She slowly started to open her eyes.
"I...can..see." she said.
Her brother then flew across the field with only 10 seconds left on the clock. Serenity's first shot was Joey trying to save his best friend.
"It's Joey!" she said.
Everyone turned to see what was happening. Seto then realised that his plan wouldn't be here in time so he went into the corner and canceled it. The plan was to use a helicopter to bring the crane over Tea's head down, but Trixie already saved her so he thought it would be a waste for it come here. Meanwhile Joey just landed on the other side quickly grabbed the key. Unfortunately, just after the timer hit 0! The anchor was released with both friends being dragged down. Tristan tried to grab Joey, but he was a second late and Joey went under.
"Yugi! Joey! Oh no." Tea cried.
Twilight comforted her. Serenity left the group without anyone noticing though. She had her own thing to do. Meanwhile, under the water, Joey opened his eyes and above he saw Yugi, under the light from the setting sun. He saw up to him. Using the key from Yugi's box he unlocked his buddy's shackles. The spiky haired boy then started to float to the surface.
Joey thought, There you go Yugi. You really are the best friend I ever had, and together we will get back at Marik and his Rare Hunter goon squad.
Suddenly, Yugi's head came up from the water. He took a deep breath.
"Hang on!" Tristan shouted as he jumped into the sea to get his friend.
He grabbed Yugi, and took him to the edge of the dock. Duke along with Trixie helped them got out of the water. Trixie then took two towels out of her bag and gave it to the soaking boys.
"Wait. Where did Serenity go?" Duke said.
He then saw the girl diving in the sea with Joey's key in her hand.
"She has the key!" shouted Twilight.
Under the water Joey was trying to use Yugi's key to free himself. He then looked up to see a shadow coming towards him.
Is that Yugi coming down here to save me? he thought.
He then saw who it was.
Serenity?! He said to himself.
She swam under him. Quick as a flash of light she freed her older brother. The two smiled at each other while they swam to the surface. The two after a minute came up breathing in the fresh air.
"Way to go Serenity!" said an elated Mai.
Yugi then said "Hey! Joey!"
"Yugi. Glad to see you are alright bud!"
Tristan and Duke helped them out, and Trixie again gave them towels from the bag.
"Yugi...I'm sorry. I feel like a jerk for what I did to ya." Joey apologized.
"It's ok Joey.It wasn't your fault."
"But I almost destroyed our friendship!"
"Marik was wrong about you. He thought that your will could easily be overcome by his powers, but you showed him and earned something important."
"Well thanks Yug, but could you explain to me what this bangle is?"
"I will later."
"So does anyone know who this girl is?" Joey asked referring to Trixie.
Trixie started to say,"Well boy I am the.."
"She is a friend from my hometown. Everyone meet Trixie." said Twilight quickly.
Yugi came over to the girl. Trixie seemed nervous. He stuck out his hand.
"Thank you for saving Tea." Yugi said.
"Oh it was nothing. I just had to do it. No one hurts anyone on my watch!"
She shook his hand, and Spike came over to Trixie.
He whispered,"Hey, can you come over here and speak with me and Twilight in private?"
"Sure." she whispered back.
"We will be right back guys. I have to catch up with Trixie a bit." said Twilight.
The three walked away from the group into an alleyway.
"Ok so how and why are you here Trixie? You better have a good reason." said an angered Spike.
She put her hand over the boy's mouth.
"Let me explain kid geez. Princess Celestia asked for my expertise in helping you with your mission."
Twilight then said, "Expertise? There is no magic in this world so.."
"My dueling talent is what I meant."
"What? Duel monsters is in Equestria? That just..can't be. Otherwise I would of heard of it. How did you know about the game Trixie?"
"Well princess I learned it from a wise unicorn in Unicornia."
"I have never heard of that place before."
"Of course you haven't. It's a secret city that is underground. Only special ponies know that it still exists, and your's truly is one of them."
"How did you find out about it?" Spike said.
"I was born there you little dragon."
"What?' exclaimed Twilight and Spike.
"You see, I was born to the leader of the city, Spark Vision, by my mother, Crescent Lulamoon. Both of them were very skilled unicorns who taught me everything I know. You can see why I have such great magical talent. When I got my cutie mark my father said it was time for me to leave the city to travel the world for a while. He told me to go out and learn from the world, and to not return until I was sixteen. So I decided to use my magic to entertain the ponies of Equestria while visiting the many cities it had. Then one day when I just turned fifteen I stumbled upon Ponyville. Then you two know what happened next. I left with my tail between my legs. I returned 11 months later when I found the alicorn amulet. I don't want to talk about that part."
"Could you please get the part where you learn the game please?" said an annoyed Spike.
"You let me finish you little twerp!"
"Hey calm down you two! Now, Trixie please continue with your story." said Twilight.
"Thank you Twilight. Anyways, after I left your town the second time I journeyed back to Unicornia. The entire city was happy to see me again. They even threw a party in my honor. Unfortunately, a lot happened when I was away. My father.....died of old age. My mother was left alone."
Tears started to fall from Trixie's eyes.
Trixie continued "My mother sent a whole group of her people to find me, but they couldn't. They thought I was gone forever. However, upon my return my mother introduced me to Comet Star a descendant of Star Swirl the Bearded."
"You know Star Swirl's descendant!?"
"Yes I just said that. Sometimes I think you just don't listen. Back to the story, he taught me all about the ancient game the rulers of Equestria played in his great, great, great, great, great grandfather's time. It was called Duel Monsters. However they didn't play with cards, but with real monsters, traps, and magic."
"Wow."
"However, in this world, in a land called Egypt, the kings played the same exact game. They sealed their beasts in stone tablets."
"This sounds like what Tea and Yugi were told at the museum."
"However, the brave pharaoh locked the magic away with help from Celestia and Luna's parents."
"Their..parents. Celestia never told me about her parents before."
"They used their combined magic to seal the monsters in both worlds away. And for safe keeping the pharaoh erased his own mind, and sealed himself in the Millennium Puzzle. It is the same puzzle that Yugi Moto possesses. Celestia and Luna's parents returned to their world using their magic to close the gate between the realms. That's all he told me. I don't know how the crystal mirror was created, or how the portal was unleaded though."
"Wow. That was an amazing story Trixie. I never knew how much you really know about magic. I underestimated your talents. Please forgive me."
Twilight put her arm out, and Trixie shook it. Trixie then took out a scroll and handed it to Twilight. She opened it, and started to read it aloud.
"Dear Twilight, I have come to realise that the once simple task of getting your element back has escalated to a dangerous task. That is why we sent Trixie to you. With her knowledge of dueling, and it's history she will help you get the task done. Please know that everyone is counting on you both. I wish you the best of luck. Signed,Princess Celestia."
"Twilight, we should get back to the others." Spike said.
"Ok. Let's go." said Twi.
The three walked back to the group, and they noticed that Mokuba and Kaiba were not present.
"Where did Mokuba and Kaiba go?" Spike asked.
"After we thanked him for trying to help, he and his brother left. They said they had to prepare for the finals. That reminds me Trixie are you competing in the finals? I see you have a duel disk." said Yugi.
Trixie went into her bag, and pulled out her six cards.
"I guess that answers that question." Duke commented.
"Well come on guys let's head to the finals!" said Joey.
He took out his cards and stook all six of them into his duel disk. Suddenly, it started to project something.
The disk then started to saya recording.
"Welcome. You have qualified for the Battle City Finals. Presenting directions to Kaiba Corp Stadium."
It then showed a map of the area and where the stadium was to their location. It also showed it was only a 15 minute walk.
"Alright Finals here we come!" shouted Joey.
The large group then started to walk to their destination. Twilight was thinking about all that Trixie had told her. Meanwhile, Yugi was wondering what Marik and Sunset were up too.

Just love that about her. Even I was thinking out of character "Celestiadammit Spike stfu and let her finish the bloody story" lol.
We all know she was a show off but heck who does not show off sometimes. She learned her lesson and I think she could be pretty cool just like in this story. Truly epic conclusion. Now on to The Finals! May you be blessed with inspiration.

This is going to be an epic finals matches do you plan to use the noah arc as well or are you just staying with the battle city storyline. I actually hope you include the noah arc as well I would love to see both trixie and twilight battle the big five as well as noah and even Gosoboro Kiaba. I eagerly await your next chapter.

After almost 2 years, I've finally managed to read the 12 remaining chapters of this fic.
It sure caught my eye, especially how a good friend pointed this fic out to me in 2020 when I was looking for YGO/Equestria Girls fics where Spike got to be human.
I am really thankful Spike gets to be human in this instead of a dog.
But its saddening that he doesn't get to duel. Why isn't he allowed to duel too?
I really wished this fic got to continue honestly.
