The Unexpected Journey - Chapter 164

I always knew farm life wasn’t always easy but I was pretty amazed to see how good Big Mac was at handling a wounded and angry mare. I hope that more of that practice has come from all the animals they keep around than from his sisters but even then this sheds a whole new light on Applejack and his relationship.

Moon Shadow struck me as being too fun-loving to say any of those things. Some of those insults I’d never heard before but from the look of it Big Mac still hasn’t heard them. When we stopped for a break he helped her down as gently as could be. He didn’t even flinch when she took the opportunity to step on his head.

I’ve heard of being patient but this is just something else. I expected Princess Luna or Morning Star to step in and do something but he just seems glad it’s not him and she just looks at the two with an almost-smile. There seems to be some joke here that the rest of us aren’t getting.
