War of Shadows - Chapter 129

To fly a circuit of Equestria would be an achievement for a mortal pony. To do so in one day would demonstrate a skill and strength in flight that hasn’t been seen in centuries. To do so every day would be more strain than a mortal body could bear. I am no mortal.

I catch fitful bouts of sleep in long glides or in Canterlot when another has taken my watch. Between sunrises I only have a few hours of sleep to keep me but in times of crises I have gone weeks without sleep, for the time being this is maintainable.

Events seem to hasten wherever I am not. Days in Canterlot are filled with preparations for the wedding of Princess Cadenza and Capitan Armor. They are to be wed within the month. The first day I made my circuit one of the only ponies I would consider myself to have a familial tie with got engaged. It seems I am destined to miss the wedding as well.

I fear the changing that was captured was no scout but one who was lagging behind. Ponies everywhere are on the lookout for strange behavior but for now we can only wait. Should an army appear I will destroy it, should these creatures attempt to infiltrate Equestria, I alone have knowledge of the army that encircles Equestria, of the noose that will close around their necks.
