If it is to be a war it is to be a war of shadows. Chrysalis thinks she may hide in the shadows and darkened alleys of Equestria but darkness is my domain. She will not see me until I kill her; she will not know me until I slit her throat. She thinks she may steal my ponies away and hide in the night but the fangs of the night already close around her neck.
Celestia asks how we should tell Equestria that it is at war. We will not. Chrysalis thinks herself safe behind the guise of her defeat. As much as Prince Armor told her while under her spell he never knew the true extent of the forces surrounding Equestria, and so Chrysalis does not know that her forces are already surrounded and cut off.
He is eager to fight, Equestria’s new prince. I understand that he desires vengeance but his talents are better served elsewhere. The Night Ponies, both those afield and those who could not fight, will be in need of provisions. Prince Armor shall see to it that they get them and that neither Chrysalis nor Equestria knows.

Love this arc, and I ADORE your Luna!
Please, continue.
I want to see the fanart of a giant battle between Changelings and Night Ponies

It wasn't the word itself, it was herself proclaiming Luna as truer.
Poor Shiny! Reduced to a supply clerk! Someone should sit Luna down and explain to her the psychological aspects of maintaining morale!
4817646 Well, yeah. In this fic I kinda established the Night Ponies as a fourth tribe and the warrior class. I don't know how clear I've made it but Celestia and Luna do consider themselves as having traits of all tribes. It makes sense that Celestia would doubt how 'Night Ponyish' she is in general and considering how she shies away from any violent tendencies for fear of collateral damage where Luna wear's her violent nature on her sleeve it makes sense that Celestia would be a bit insecure about that part of herself. Her fight with Chrysalis and the threat of war would bring that insecurity out.
No worries, Shiny, it won't be too long before the Crystal Empire appears, there'll be combat opportunities for you up there.

I think it might also have to do with Celestia having ruled Equestria alone for 1000 years, having gotten comfortable with her ruling style of subtle manipulation of the situation, rather than confrontation like Luna. I also feel the idea that Crysalis won the fight cause Celestia was holding back makes sense, perhaps Celestia is afraid that the same situation would happen again. And of course the sisters personalities are very different, Luna is a bit zealous, as the IDW comics showed she spends a portion of her nights fighting monsters and really enjoys it.
And yet.... I can't help but wonder.... 'What if Luna's wrong?' What if the attack was one of desperation? Why would Chrysalis even let the ponies know changelings exist if this whole attack was a way to disguise them taking over other ponies?
what if, what if, what if?
anyhow, I still love the story and where it's going. And it's still really awesome!!!
Jeez, man, your Luna is bloodthirsty! I like the aggression, it's well done and certainly seems to fit her personality.
Wooo! Finally caught up!
4818824 Exactly why the populace of Equestria isn't alerted. If they Chrysalis is merely an idiot, then some resources will be wasted on the search. And the resources are not so great, especially if there is no actually combat, that Equestria would be placed in any real danger.
