It's a strange night when Vinyl and Octavia are hired to investigate a murder and find a missing husband. But what's the truth behind this case? Why are they the ones being hired? Zephyr Breeze, a otiose hair therapist that wishes for the elusive.

These two opposites have nothing in common, and placing them in a room together (say, an elevator) would likely result in chaos.

But what if we overlooked something? Maybe the two of them are a lot more similar than what we assume them to be if we just have them talk with each other.

Only one way to find out and two ways it could go; up, or down.

I'm not kidding on the 'one way' either, as this is the first Octavia & Zephyr story on the site.

Vinyl Scratch and Octavia discuss the events which took place before Cranky's wedding. However, Vinyl is filled with anxiety once her more impulsive behavior is brought into question.

When Octavia finds a fiery-red feather, she doesn't pay it much mind at first. Except now the cellist has to live together with her mythical and, most importantly, hot companion—not always an easy task.

Depressed after only having one pony show up for her Winter Concert, Octavia slumps herself within the holiday season. Not to mention the pony that did show up was her marefriend, Vinyl didn't exactly count as a viewer. Nothing to be merry about, Octavia is likely to spend another Hearth's Warming Eve alone, again. The only problem — Octavia wants to spend it alone. Her stubborn marefriend, Vinyl has other plans in mind as a blizzard hits Canterlot quickly and unexpectedly, sealing both ponies inside her apartment until the weather clears. Hilarity or insanity she doesn't know, but Octavia seems to enjoy spending time with the upstart DJ.
