He stood at ramparts long since fallen, and was counted a hero in lands forgotten, when ponies had only begun to dream.

Maybe it's all true, but now he rocks in his chair, stirring at embers, while his deeds turn to rust in the shadows. What kind of scars call that living? And if you ask him, would he tell you?

King Sombra survives his supposed destruction by the Crystal Heart. However he is thrown far away in the process, left in what seems to be a frozen wasteland.
Defeated, humiliated and barely even alive, Sombra must rebuild himself from the ashes, and find a new home.
How will Sombra live? Will he be able to accept his failure and defeat?
And what does a former monarch do when he has lost everything he fought for?
And why does the world just not want to leave him alone?

Story Notes:
The sex and gore tag is not because that is the main focus of the story, it is simply a warning that if you want a story with absolutely NO sexual refferences, or gore at any time, then you most likely didn't make a good choice of picking a story about a unicorn who was known to have slaves.
And Dark tag is not due to everything being dark or depressing, but that its some dark subjects that is going to be brought up.
I wanted to put comedy, but the sad is just balanced out, and I wanted to put Slice of life, but really, its more of an adventure for Sombra.

Even for one such as Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings.

She lost her bid for Equestria. The changeling was found lying in a crater miles from where she had been flung. It was a miracle she had survived. Her army was shattered. So far as the Equestrians knew, Chrysalis was the only survivor.

But her hive survives and has gone to hiding as another queen seeks to find it.

If Equestria thought Chrysalis was a monster, wait until they meet Queen Taalia...

In the meantime, Atalanta has given Queen Chrysalis a renewed sense of purpose. Hatched in captivity, she is the whole world to her doting mother.

She writes the story of her life for her daughter, who could very well be the last of the changelings once Chrysalis is gone...and who this Queen Taalia is.

Twilight is more than deserving of a break, more deserving of a life with no more stress and no more death. However, her well deserved things are too far away for her to reach when she wakes up in the arms of the Weyland Yutani Corparation.

Twilight Sparkle will be undergoing some extreme changes, she will have to once again survive. Infected with a Xenomorph Queen will witness the true power of the creatures, will see all the breeds the parasitic species has to offer. Good things will come to an end , Weyland will fall, the truth will come out and Twilight will have.....

A disgraced Chrysalis has traveled to request refuge from Queen Gytha of the Greneclyf Hives after her defeat dealt by the traitors back home. Gytha knows of her atrocious reputation, and though there might be some value in this strange Queen from abroad, she must keep her guard, lest she allows this foreign Changeling do upon to Gytha as others had done to her...

History is a vast topic and all of it was founded from either truth or lies, history is written by the victor more often than not. But what is most intriguing about the past is that it can do so much now, it can enlighten the younger and thus should be told. But at the same time it can corrupt and in fact ruin some ponies. It can found glorious empires, or destroy them. The sad thing is that none of this matters now, history will always be the same. Some of it will never see the light of day, and will be unable to warn the future generations of our failures.

Equestrian history is large and unbounded, it spans over five hundred volumes and we still continue to write what we saw thousands of years ago. So one footnote will surely be ignored, a tiny collection of facts. Nopony will ever know of our existence, or know of our mysteries. They will only know what they are told, and in this ignorance, they will be saved.
