Spike awakens from a horrible nightmare. He goes to Twilight and tells her about it, asking for comfort in return. She gives him some motherly advice, and a little more than he bargained for.

When the alicorn princesses are taken by a sudden illness that prevents them from raising the sun or setting the moon, Raven and Spike discuss alternatives. Suddenly, Starlight teleports in and announces she has an idea.

After Discord accidentally gives Spike Cosmic powers and can't take them back Spike goes crazy and is tricked into trapping himself in a magic lamp and sent hurtling into the past, now an all-powerful genie Spike is forced to bend to the will of whoever holds the lamp. And accidentally creates some Equestrian history while doing so.

In this story, which takes place in an alternate universe, you will come to know why Spike and Luna were not present at the last Gala. This is a short story of Love between two unlikely, but so likely souls. Of two outcasts finding a norm in each other. And learning why the Gala, with all its hype, might just be overrated. At least for Spike and Luna it is.

*The only difference in this universe is that Spike didn't go to the Gala.*
