An attempt at writing adventure, and moving myself out of my comfort zone and into dialog-heavy writing. Plus, Discord! Whoo!

Newly reformed and eager to put his magic to good use, Discord has decided to become a teacher and bask Equestria in the greatness that is his knowledge. Unfortunately for Celestia, he's decided she'll be his first student. Time for her to deal with a lesson about chaos theory. Hopefully she'll survive in time for the test.

Throughout the multiverse, sphinxes are enigmatic beings. Some are merely monsters with inscrutable motives, while others guide entire civilizations towards goals only they understand. No matter the world, a sphinx is a mystery given form, and Equestria is no different.

Of course, some mysteries have more satisfying solutions than others.

Discord is attacked by a mysterious pony with frightening power. He is left in the woods young and frightened. Fluttershy finds the infant Draconequus and takes him in. Fluttershy cares for Discord, and Discord comes to love the pegasus. When Twilight finds a new threat and alerts the Elements, Fluttershy realizes that it is the same mysterious pony who deaged Discord. Can they get Discord back to normal? And until they do, how bad can raising the Lord of Chaos possibly be?

Fluttershy has a nightmare.

How would a being like Discord want to be remembered after he's gone? Well, if you're curious, he did actually write a will. To the surprise of nobody, its contents are bizarre and mildly disturbing.

It's been a thousand years since Discord broke free, defeated the Elements of Harmony and trapped them and the royal sisters in stone. He's been free to spread his chaos throughout the world unchecked. One day however he feels something strange, something he's never felt before in the time he's tortured the world....bordeom

If one were to see a large red button in the middle of the street for no apparent reason, most would probably think twice about pushing it.

Or at least, that's what they'd claim. Big red buttons are meant to be pushed after all. Especially when there's a "Do Not Push" sign right next to it...

It's Fluttershy's soulmate day. This day just happens to coincide with the escape of the Lord of Chaos, Discord.

Now, she must figure out who her soulmate is and take care of a bad guy at the same time.

While lounging around Twilight's castle and airing some friendship-related grievances, Discord stumbles across a magic book containing letters from an inter-dimensional pen pal. As it just so happens, this pen pal also had sinister designs for Equestria, but was quashed by the Elements of Harmony. What's more, she's made amends since that day, and she's now Twilight's friendship student. Eager to bond with someone who can relate to him on a personal level and grow into a better draconequus, Discord packs his bags and heads off to the human world with Twilight's semi-blessing. His mission: Befriend Sunset Shimmer.

However, his plan has a bit of a snag. See, Sunset hasn't been keeping up with Equestrian events, and she never got the memo about Discord turning over a new leaf. As such, she believes that his sudden appearance doesn't bode well for Equestria, Canterlot High, or herself. Not only this, but the Sirens are privy to Discord's return as well, and they see this as a golden opportunity to bounce back from their own recent defeat. Well, Adagio does, anyway. Sonata doesn't want to live in a world that makes no sense, and Aria would rather maintain what little dignity she has left by not getting involved (or so she claims).

So while Discord is trying to earn Sunset's trust and show her what a good friend he is now, Adagio is trying to get in on an evil scheme that doesn't exist. And while that is going on, Sonata is appealing to the Rainbooms behind Adagio's back, hoping that they'll make Discord go away. With so much miscommunication thrown into the mix, you just know that hijinks are inevitable. Good thing Aria made popcorn.
