Hearth's Warming Eve is that really special time of year when families get together and celebrate what it means to be close to somepony’s heart. And every year, Minuette keeps showing up in Ponyville just before Hearth's Warming Eve. Why?

Everybody has wondered what it would be like to go somewhere else, to just leave all of their problems behind and make a new life for themselves somewhere else. Nobody ever stops to think ‘Hey? What if I actually did go somewhere new and I missed this place more?’ No, nobody ever says that, because we are sure that our fantasy worlds are the bees’ knees and we would never want to return. Let me tell you, that is not always the case. Let’s rewind and take it from the top, shall we?

After getting filthy looks all morning, I asked my friends what everypony's problem was — and they told me that a rumour was circulating about me, claiming I was bedding every stallion I could get my hooves on.

Incensed by this, I protested my innocence and demanded to know where my friends heard the rumour. They were quick to tell me — and then they came along for the ride as I attempted to discover the source of the slander, going from pony to pony as I followed the trail of lies back to the source.

A source which, as it turned out, was not what I expected...

One year had passed since Pinkie Pie had met Twilight, and she had decided to skip a visit to the dentist during this period, due to all the adventures and food she had to finish. However, Twilight convinces her of the importance of healthy teeth, and the two visit the dentists office to learn that 12 months of sweets, sugar, cakes and muffins don't make your choppers any more able. Will Pinkie have to get dentures? Will she ever look at a cake the same way again? Will I regret asking questions in the description? The answer to all is probably.

Her changelings were starving. She was growing desperate. Murphy's law was in full effect. Queen Chrysalis was having a very bad day. Losing her toothbrush was just the beginning.

So, my roommate came home from Trader Joe's with a new toothbrush. The packaging inspired the cover art and fic you see here. Go blame her for my insanity.

Twilight, Minuette, Lyra, Moondancer, Lemon Hearts, and Twinkleshine spend Hearth's Warming Eve in a little cabin in Crystal Mountains. They don't mind the bad weather and spend time playing cards, drinking hot chocolate and talking about random things.

Ever since the royal wedding, her dreams have been filled with the horror of being a slave to the changelings. And they seem to be getting worse. They're getting so bad she can't even sleep through the night anymore. And with her sleeplessness comes new obsessions. Obsessions with a strange song. Obsessions with a strange word that doesn't seem to be in the dictionary - any of them!

Lyra must discover if she's going mad, or if there's something more sinister at work.

The title was inspired by Lethal Weapon and Cola Bubble Gum. The story was written out of an attempt to kill writer's block.
