Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Pinkie's mind was growing numb from the dull, lifeless walls and the constant clicking of the clock. The chair she sat in was uncomfy, the room was quiet excluding the sound the tools and clock, and she was ready to explode from pure boredom. However, Twilight looked over to her friend with a sigh, and fixed everything with two words.
"Oh, alright.."
And with that, Pinkie catapulted towards the foals corner, and began drawing with the nearest coloring book. Twilight turned to Pinkie with a face of concern. She simply asked "Pinkie, are you sure you're ok with just a checkup? It's been a year since your last visit, and I'm sure those teeth aren't made of steel."
Pinkie let out a giggle, replying "Well, of course they're not! If my teeth were made of steel, then every time I took a bite out of something my teeth would clank and it-" she stopped, realizing that Twilight's original point had nothing to do with her teeth being steel, and rather that concerning her last checkup.
Putting down the crayon and book, she got up. "Twilight, my teeth are fine, really. If they weren't, how would my smile look this good?" she opened her mouth, revealing her pearly white teeth, shining brightly in the office.
Twilight responded "Well, we wont know till they check, will we? Besides, going to the dentist is important."
Pinkie frowned a little "I know, I've just been putting it off. Saving Equestria and baking for a living, along with all those parties, doesn't give you much time to visit this place. Besides, I don't need to brush my teeth THAT badly. It's like cutting your mane, SURE when it's overgrown, but otherwise I just let it grow free!"
She went back to drawing as Twilight leaned over in her teal chair, looking down at Pinkie. "No, it's really not. Your mane grows back, but your teeth only grow back ONCE. Judging by how much you eat sweets, I'm honestly surprised that they haven't rotted out." Pinkie stood up, looking a little disgruntled.
"Hey!"
"No offence."
Before things could get any more sour, Colgate walked out into the hallway, another pony walking out quietly. She let out a cheery "Next pony, please!", prompting Pinkie to get up and trot over to her. Twilight followed quickly, a smile on her face.
"Hello Colgate. We're here for a quick checkup."
Colgate smiled, and walks down to her office. "Great! It's been a while since I've checked Pinkies teeth, but you've already visited last week. Are you sure you need another checkup so soon?"
With that, Twilight chuckled "No, no, I meant that I'm here with Pinkie to get HER checked up."
Pinkie rushed in front of the two to the dental chair, and laid back in it without prompting. Colgate let out a little laughter herself. "Eager as always, aren't you Pinkie?"
Pinkie nodded in response, pulling the greenish white sheet over her and waiting, staring up at the light as the clock continued to tick away the time. That was all the confirmation Colgate needed, and she turned to Twilight. "I hate to be rude Princess, but could you please wait in the lounge if you're not getting a checkup? I just want some room to work."
Twilight nodded, and headed out the door "Sorry.. Well Pinkie, have fun!"
Pinkie smiled, adjusting herself and looking up at the roof now. Colgate got all her tools, and got to work.
3 minutes was all it took before she had walked back out, towards Twilight. "Princess, I'm afraid I've come across a serious problem.."
"Problem?" Twilight stood up. "What's wrong?"
"Well.." Colgate looked down at the floor, before grappling onto Twilight in a state of panic. "They're some of the worst I've ever seen! It's a NIGHTMARE! I think I've spotted 26 cavities back there, I've never seen so many holes in the back of someponys teeth!!"
Twilight looked shocked. "I didn't think it was that bad.."
"OH, BUT IT IS! THE TEETH ARE YELLOWING, IT.. I.. I can't even BEGIN to describe it! This way, quickly!" Colgate pulled Twilight back into the room, where Pinkie sat, her mouth pried open. She showed Twilight the X-Ray of her teeth, and it did indeed look that bad from the backside of her teeth. "It has more holes then a block of Swiss cheese! I'm debating just having them all pulled out and replaced with dentures!"
"Deuntures? Youh meahn thoues thangs Granneh Pieh haed?" Pinkie asked, her mouth held open. Colgate sighed, and took the dental gag out.
"Yes Pinkie. It would take allot of time and money to fix every tooth in there, so I'm thinking just giving you dentures would cost less and be MUCH easier."
Twilight butted in quickly ".. Wait, do you really think that giving Pinkie dentures would be a good idea? I mean sure, it means that she's able to eat more junk, but her teeth are still fixable, right?"
Pinkie Pies eyes lit up as she got an idea. "That's IT! I should get dentures! I'll never have to brush my teeth again, I can eat as many sweets as I want without worrying about cavities, and I get to be toothless like Gummy!"
"Pinkie, hold on!" Twilight sighed again. "Look, as much as it SEEMS like a good idea, maybe you should try to keep your teeth. It-"
Before she could finish, Colgate showed Twilight a picture of the behinds of Pinkie's teeth. It had a sour yellow grime lined against it, holed poking in to her teeth everywhere. Some of the areas on the teeth seem to have concaved a bit from how much was eaten away, and some parts have even started turning a yellow brown.
Pinkie walked out of the dentists with her new dentures, playing around with them in her mouth with a giant, artificial smile. Twilight followed a few seconds later, looking pretty unhappy.
"What's the matter Twilight? I saved us 2,000,000,000 bits in dental work, AND I have these cool things!"
Twilight stopped for a second "It's just, you're never going to have normal teeth again.."
With that, Pinkie let out a laugh, walking down the street. "Silly Twilight, those were my baby teeth!"
Twilights eyes shot wide open "What?! How!?!? Then why did you make me pay for the dentures!?"
"Simple! I never lost my baby teeth, so I used this opportunity to have dentures while my new teeth come in, and then give them to Gummy when he gets older!"
She smiles, before sticking her tongue out, the teeth with it. "Choohl, hugh?"
Twilight looked at the fee for the trip again with a resentful sigh. She had wasted another solid amount of bits out of one of Pinkies zany ideas. ".. Do me a favor, remind me to stop giving you bits."
Pinkie giggled, and hugged Twilight "Oh relax, you're a Princess! You can afford to lose them from time to time."
Twilight sighed one last time, before hugging back with a smile "Oh, alright.. But seriously Pinkie, try not to drain my bits too much."
She let go with an awkward smile. "Yeah, I won't.. Sorry about that."
"Oh, it's alright, I understand that you want to play with them.. But as I said before, you're on your last set of teeth. Can you promise me that you'll take better care of them this time around?"
"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye."
The two giggled, and they headed to their homes, the afternoon sun setting on Ponyville. Pinkie, walking upstairs to Gummy, let out a wild grin.
"OHH GUMMY, GUESS WHAT I GOT YOU FOR YOUR AFTER-AFTER BIRTHDAY PARTY!?"
