Lyra and Bon Bon have an ordinary conversation.

When the Brony International Guard came to town Lyra thought all of hers dreams had come true. Finally, she had proof that nopony could argue with. But there's something strange about these creatures who call themselves 'bronies'. It isn't just their weird humor or quirky behavior. They're keeping secrets from everypony, and only Lyra seems to notice, or even care. None of investigations have solved this mystery just yet, but with the arrival of some new divisions, she may finally have the chance she needs...

Lyra Heartstrings is a up-and-coming musician living in the quiet town of Ponyville. Her marefriend Bon Bon owns and operates Canter Candies, the town's specialty sweets shop. They've been together for years, and everypony around knows what a happy couple they are. But any relationship has its ups and downs, and it's hard to ignore every awkward moment.

Like when Lyra's ex arrives in town.
Because she thinks Lyra still has a thing for her.
Because someone's been impersonating her for the past few years.

...Bon Bon might be in trouble here.

When she attempts a summoning spell that goes horribly awry, Lyra manages to break Discord free from his stone prison. The ensuing snowball of unfortunate events leaves her imbued with the power of chaos at her hooftips.

At the brink of dawn, something crashes on the Everfree Forest, causing untold amounts of damage and displacing many creatures that called the dark and foreboding forest their home. When the dust settles, a massive construct of metal is revealed to be the perpetrator.

Lyra Heartstrings, as well as the rest of Ponyville, approach the ominous edifice only to find there's something inside...

Lyra Heartstings is a pony with an obsession. Humans, mythical creatures from ancient history. Before now, she was just a theorist, a madmare. But with the discovery of the crystal caves beneath Canterlot, all the clues finally make sense. Now it's up to one pony to brave the depths, the fury of Equestria's finest at her hooves, and find the truth.

Bon Bon just told Lyra about her former identity as Sweetie Drops. Before the wedding began, Lyra seemed to be okay with it, but Bon Bon knew her marefriend better than that. She had hurt Lyra, and she had a lot of explaining to do once they got home.

Now she has to prepare to tell her marefriend the rest of the story as she faces the fear that Lyra may never forgive her.

Yep, it’s another “what happened after the events of ‘Slice of Life’” tale. I wrote this to bring that episode into alignment with my Lyra and Bon Bon Series. If you haven’t read My True Self, then this story isn’t going to mean anything to you.
