Fear of crowds is a common condition to have and Pyridae is one of those ponies to be cursed with it. Some have their ways to cope with their fears. Thankfully, all Pyridae needs are fireflies to do the trick.

The Lunar War, also known as the Lunar Rebellion, is known for how the great Celestia overpowered Nightmare Moon and banished her to the moon, even at the cost of loosing her sister. But what isn't told in those children stories is the four year long war in which thousands lost their lives. But a thousand years after the war a journal was published, from a first hoof experience of the conflict.

Childbirth is a chancy thing, especially when it comes in the middle of the night, too fast for the midwife or the doctor. Chip was always her sister's echo, her mirror-image, her reflection. But now Sheet Cookie is gone. What can the reflection of a pony do, when there's nopony to reflect anymore?

No time to think. And Chip's sister may be dead, but the foal isn't. And her sister's mother just called her by the dead mare's name.

Thanks to his job, Anon E. Mouse became tired and frustrated. His usual life was a living nightmare. He needed some kind of therapy which can make him calm and relaxed. But he didn't need a therapy. The only thing that he needed was a pet. A cute, smart, beautiful and lovable pet.

In the petshop he couldn't choose, beacuse there was many kind of pet. Parrots, lizards, fish etc. Under the tour in the petshop he suddenly looked at an interesting aquarium and its content. In that aquarium he found the perfect pet. A tiny seapony called Princess Skystar.

Dusk just wanted to go to a picnic with his best friends before spending a relaxing weekend reading, but fate had other plans; namely his older brother's surprise wedding. Rainbow Dash and Rarity broke up, or at least Rainbow thinks they did. Canterlot has been threatened, and the one behind it is closer to the throne than ever. The guards put in place to combat the danger are being lead by Shining Armor's second-in-command Spearhead Sentry, who is spending more time fussing over his little brother Flash and being scared out of his mind by the fearsomely enigmatic Captain Spitfire to focus on training. Princess Luna and her personal guard of vampiric soldiers walk the streets enforcing a curfew, keeping the citizens safe at the expense of their freedoms. Dusk's old friends from school, the bridesmaids in the upcoming wedding between their own best friend and his older brother, miss him... but he doesn't even remember them anymore. The Queen of the Changelings is mobilizing her forces to destroy Princess Celestia and steal the Elements of Harmony, and she doesn't care how many innocent lives she destroys to do it...

The pieces are in place, and Dusk will have a lot on his plate over the next few days. It's a good thing he won't be facing it alone.

Fireflies AU: all equine characters are human, all other characters are anthro, and Twilight has been gender-flipped to Dusk Shine. This is just a snippet of the main story to showcase certain select aspects of worldbuilding, character backstory, lore, and the way magic operates in this AU, as well as the way I utilize retroactive continuity to bring characters introduced later on in the series than the Season 2 finale into play [such as Sunset Shimmer, Flash Sentry, Minuette, Thorax, Starlight, Sunburst, Tempest, and others pending Season 8 and whenever the fifth Equestria Girls movie is released] as well as events from the comics in order to allow for more plot developments. A teaser of sorts for the real thing, if you will. I also make many characters siblings (Spearhead and Flash), and make many other characters openly LGBT or otherwise queer.
Ships: contains Raridash, Dusk Shine X Flash Sentry, allusions to PinkieJack and ScootaBelle, one-sided crushes from Fluttershy to Rainbow and Rarity, from Minuette and Celestia to Dusk, and from Flash Sentry to Sunset Shimmer.
Sex tag for Rainbow and Rarity being intimate, Chrysalis having freaky bug sex, an allusion to an attempted rape, and for a frank discussion between Dusk and Flash about being queer.
Gore tag for Thorax getting his ass kicked in, an unnamed character getting his ass kicked in, bloodied and dead soldiers and changelings, and for an attempted gallows hanging.

Since there seems to be a bit of confusion on the subject, the pony characters in this story are humanized with the different characteristics of their races, wings, horns, etc...

It's a time for celebration in the Crystal Empire. It's Princess Flurry Hearts ninth birthday. The princesses, the Elements and even everyone's favorite gem eating dragon have shown up to party! That is until an unexpected guest crashes the place three days before the party and Flurry becomes smitten with the odd child they found.

He's a young man around her age in an odd orange and blue outfit. The biggest difference with him is that he has a monkey's tail instead of wings or a horn and the tremendous power he exudes. His name is Son Gohan of the Saiyan race.

He's kind, courteous, strong and very generous, almost immediately befriending the young princess and her family with his attitude and stories. But, as it has been Gohan's entire life, this peace is not to last.

The people of Equestria are about to get a very rude awakening because, despite Gohan's kind hearted nature and will to protect his new friends, war seems to be working it's way towards them in the form of the Changeling Queen, Chrysalis and the mysterious and powerful General Diserex. The half-saiyan will need to fight like a bat out of Tartarus to protect this new world he's found himself in, but every choice has a consequence.
