This story is a sequel to Time

After years and years by her side, Celestia's beloved has finally passed away. The princess is despondent, but she is also immortal and so she lingers on alone.

One night, Luna comes to talk to her sister about an idea she has that might allow her to see Rarity one last time.

The lady Rarity is infamously picky with her stallions and despite spending decades up at her mansion alone she has not had a returning suitor, only her pink maid and that yellow gardener ever return to the everfree mansion. Rumour is, unfortunately, all the town has to go on but with the gala coming around again in a few short weeks the town is abuzz with what their small time nobility will do. Will this be the year Rarity finally graces Canterlot with her presence? Why hasn't she gone all these years despite being explicitly invited by the princess?

Rarity's most recent relationship, one she had thought was going well blew up in her face. She was going to wallow in self-pity but Pinkie Pie decided that enough was enough. Now Rarity just needs to accept the new mare in her life.

If you want just the silly fluff skip the prologue.

The prologue sets up the scene for the chapter, and that chapter is only 1k, so... I'm claiming this fits into my exactly 1k stories!

would happen to Twilight after her friends had died. With that thought
was born this story.

Season 4 did NOT happen for this stories timeline.

Every chapter after the prologue will be set in first person. After the Chapter title will be the Pony's PoV.

Once-Queen Chrysalis has had her schemes blow up in her face yet again. Naively, she thought, this time would be different. Take their power for her own, and it would be a simple matter to enact her revenge. She did not expect to end her scheme crippled, starving, and in the hooves of the pests that ruined her life.

Twilight and her friends have had a rough day. An argument during their trip through the woods nearly had them at each others throats, but they pulled through together and laughed about it in the end. They didn't expect to end their day with them taking one of the greatest threats to Equestria into custody. And Twilight certainly didn't expect herself to be extending her hoof to another poor, lost soul, trying to help them find their way.
