There is now a side-story: A Hard Day's Nightmare Night

Twilight has always been the best there is at magic. She's won dozens of scholarly competitions and tests of skill in Canterlot. But when it comes to the more violent uses for magic, she is essentially clueless.

When she meets a strange unicorn in a seedy bar, he introduces her to a little known sport that will test her knowledge of magic in different ways. That is, of course, if Twilight can't resist its primal lure.

Spike is separated from his friends when he falls through a hole created during an earthquake. Deep beneath the earth, he finds a forest teeming with life, both breathtakingly beautiful and breathtakingly lethal. Unfortunately, many of its inhabitants would like to make a meal of him. Now, Spike has to find a way to contact his friends while avoiding monster bugs. Somehow, he must survive and not succumb to his baser instincts.

Ponyville is getting ready to host a Dodgeball Tournament when Gilda shows up, challenging them against her own team. As they prepare themselves, Twilight and her friends learn a surprising secret about a certain crossed-eyed mailpony. Will Ponyville be able to beat Gilda and her team? Or will they taste rubbery defeat?

This is the tale of a drake craving freedom.

Spike wakes up every day to a nagging roommate. His days are spent doing chores he neither likes nor dislikes. And, to make matters worse, Rarity's heart is still as distant as ever.

So he stops caring for a day.
