Kuno, a young changeling, is left weak, bloodied, and bruised after the events of the Canterlot wedding. She is soon discovered by Warden, a Royal Guard. But for some reason, Warden shows her mercy. Instead of taking her into the custody of the Royal Guard, he becomes both her captor and her savior. But over time, Kuno will come to ask herself the hardest question she has ever pondered: Can a changeling feel love?

There's a man who works at my job in the basement.

He says his name is Derek. Not many people like Derek. People say he's weird and tends to lie. Derek says he was tricked and isn't supposed to be here at all.

He also says he used to be the Chaos King back home.

And here I just wish he'd stop screwing around with the coffee in the breakroom.

Princess Luna's sister and son urge her to take a night off, or at least get some sleep, and her son attends The Grand Galloping Gala in her stead.

He just has a few problems. As he reminisces about the things he can't get back, and the things he never even knew, he comes to recall the mixed life he's led thus far, and imagine the life he'll lead in the future.

Rated Teen because Nightsong still remembers being turned into a changeling quite vividly, and also thinks about how he and his adopted sister once... They were under both a love and a lust spell at the time.

Cheese Sandwich doesn’t have any parties to plan it seemed. The days seem to tick by, and no one is in need of him. So he takes a day off to visit a friend. A special friend.

Derpy Hooves died a long time ago. She was in Canterlot for the royal wedding, and was one of many unfortunate casualties of the changeling invasion. Her daughter was not there to see Derpy die, but a changeling was there to see the filly lost and crying, stumbling after her mother but not seeing the body.

There was something in those keening cries and those wails of anguish that compelled the changeling to wipe the blood from her mouth and take on a new form. She had meant to take the filly to safety, to her family, to anywhere...

But Derpy was the only pony that little Dinky had. So the changeling stayed with the filly. Day after day, she would tell herself that this was it, that she knew ponies who could take Dinky in, who would be more than happy to. But day after day, the idea of returning to the Hive seemed more and more like a death sentence. She meant to return, she really did.

Until she didn't.

It has been three years since the Canterlot Wedding. Changeling spies have found the renegade that abandoned them at the height of their invasion. Chrysalis intends to punish this rebellion, either by public execution or by forcing Derpy to lead a charge on Ponyville.

But before the sentence is passed, Derpy is given the chance to speak to the Swarm.

Shining Armor has always believed that hard work and dedication was the only thing needed to achieve what you want to do in life, which is why the only thing he's ever focused on was his guard training in order to move up from being a simple recruit to a full fledged Royal Guard.

Though he always thought the only friends he needed were his family, little sister, and his two young dragon assistants, Spike and his twin sister Spines, he soon has to rely on this in order to face the return of Nightmare Moon on the one thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration.
