The eternal night is over. The Elements of Harmony have vanquished Nightmare Moon, the world was saved, and Princess Luna has returned to the throne, this time to rule by her sister's side as equals.

The fear of her people, however, remains. She see's it in their eyes, hears it in their whispered words. She accepts it. To her, this is her penance for the pain she has caused. To sink into the night and rule from afar... this is how she will atone for the pain brought to her subjects... to her sister.

Little did she know that fate had other plans in store for her. Plans that would be set in motion by a single sentence, a sentence that would go on to change her life in an instant...

“Luna, I would like you to meet Spike Solaris. My son.”

While trying to find a place to hide from some bullies, Fleetfoot finds a stolen dragon egg. A single thought goes through her mind: bring it home.

During the War of the Sun and Moon in medieval Equestria, young Spike, a knight in training, doesn't know who he can trust when a band of outlaws accuse his guardian, Lord Tirek, of being responsible for his father's death. His suspicions grow when he meets a young colt who claims to have been kidnapped by Tirek. Soon Spike will have to choose between his duty to his guardian and his duty to his heart.

Becoming Dragon Lord has brought a wave of new responsibilities for Ember, none of which she enjoys. The first of these tasks are the formal negotiations with Equestria, which will either formalize peace between the two nations or else be the start of a deadly war. She's pretty sure it's going to be the former, but if she has to sit through another awful meeting, she may change her mind.

Spike offers her an alternative: visit the spa.

This story is a sequel to I Can Count On You

Ember, Lord of all Dragons, has been presented with a problem that has forced her to seek the help of her best and closest friend.

Now that Spike has arrived all she needs to tell him is her problem. An ancient law, one that no Dragon Lord can object against, has come into effect.

What's that problem? She is to be bonded with the winner of a special tournament as life-mates.

**This is my first attempt at writing something based almost purely on fighting/combat in a tournament-like scenario.**

Princess Luna decides that risking the lives of the Elements of Harmony time and time again is hardly the most sensible or strategic response to the threats Equestria faces, leading her to seek an alternative solution, one which will ensure Equestria's protection in a more efficient manner.

The vagrants and outcasts of Equestria then find themselves presented with a proposition, one which could ensure their futures and prosperity... Assuming they survive the tasks requested of them that is.

After being locked in an endless bloodshed for nearly fifty years, the Draconian Empire and the Principality of Wyveria has reached a stalemate. In this delicate time of temporary peace, the dragon prince Blitz Wings decided to take the opportunity to head back to the dragon capital Zekronia to spend time with his family. however on his way, he came across a mysterious wyvern and things started to become complicated.

Notes:
-Giant dragons does not exist in this universe.
-Focuses mostly on dragons so don't expect too many ponies to appear.

Oh? Did I mention that said big bro is Garble, the guy that tried to kill him, of all dragons?

And that said rescue is pretty much just a slice of compassion of a cute little dragon raised by ponies to a grieving teenager?

Yep, Shattered Scales gives Garble and his pals some dignity to their characters.
Takes place two weeks after the episode that these bad dudes have first appeared in.
