As a filly, Twilight Sparkle used her incredible magic to hatch a dragon egg. That dragon then became her lifelong companion, friend, and even sibling: Smolder.

Now Smolder has a chance to learn more about her own kind by meeting a dragon born and raised in the Dragon Lands. She has to figure out what to do next and what that could mean for her--and her family.

Ember and Thorax forcesconvinces Garble, a hotheaded dragon of the dragon lands, and Pharynx, the tough big brother of the Changelings, to be the plus ones.

How will either of them handle a social gathering as big as this one?

After the Storm King steals a dragon egg from the Canterlot castle, he slowly starts his plan to rule Equestria

It's a well known fact that the bulk of a dragon's diet is gemstones.

To the far north of the land lies the Crystal Empire, where basically everything is made of crystal and gemstones. Included in this is a massively powerful ancient artifact.

Garble has a stupid plan and a bottle of hot sauce.

When an odd question pops into Smolder's head during lunch, it begins to spiral out of control, leading to some very unfortunate events involving Gallus.

Dragon Lord Ember is slowly discovering many new things about her position of power. Not after discovering that it was the Dragon Lord's job to look after dragon eggs, she also discovers that she is also responsible for using the Bloodstone Scepter to remove strange curses from any dragon afflicted by them. So, she proceeds to do so for a certain, severely ill red dragon. In the process, however, she ends up releasing . . . nightmarish.

A new generation of dragons comes into the world. Garble and his mate greet their son.

In spite of Spike's valiant efforts, he and Princess Ember fail to stop Garble from getting to the Bloodstone Scepter. Having heard Garble saying that he'll take whatever he wants from Equestria and burn the rest, Twilight decides that she and her friends must remove the bad dragon from power. . . .

. . . But things are rarely that straight forward.
