The ponies calling themselves the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony (along with the lowly Vinyl Scratch and Spike the Dragon) awaken from their long artificial dream. In truth, they are the most powerful ponies in the world of the far future. In this seemingly perfect world, the only problems plaguing ponykind are in their dreams, and that makes The Mistress of Dreams the de facto ruler of Equestria.

But all is not rosy in Ponyopolis, and the only way out of this growing nightmare is by sacrificing one of their own...

In school, everypony learns about the official history of Equestria, the acts of heroes and villains that made the world what it is today. But at home, everypony learns another, secret history, about how their family and theirs alone is at the center of Equestria's history, and how without them, the world will fall apart. This Hearth's Warming Eve, Twilight Sparkle and their friends will share their secret histories, and in this way discover that the bonds between them reach back far earlier than Rainbow Dash's first Sonic Rainboom.

This is a follow-up to my earlier story, "The Best of All Possible Worlds". That story was set centuries in the past, while this story is present day. If you're wondering where the humans came from, see another side story that is otherwise unrelated to this, "Parade Coverage". Despite that, I expect that this story stands alone. The story's set in an alternate-universe Season Three that branched off early in Season Two.

In their continuing quest to escape from the mental control of the Dragon Emperor, Vinyl, Twilight and Pinkie venture into the dream of Rainbow Dash, where Vinyl is transformed into a superhero straight out of a comic book. Too bad that for every comic book superhero, there must be an equally powerful supervillain...

On the first anniversary of the defeat of Nightmare Moon, Pinkie Pie is preparing the party to end all parties. It is her masterpiece, to show her father that she was justified in fleeing the family farm ten years earlier.

Acting off of a mysterious remark by Princess Luna, Twilight Sparkle is trying to work out which of her friends is suffering from nightmares about a horrible danger coming to Ponyville during the Summer Sun Celebration. All she knows is that this pony lied about their cutie mark story...

And Pinkamena is also preparing for the arrival of her father. She has a masterpiece of her own, but it is quite different from Pinkie's...

Luna and the Elements of Harmony race to Canterlot to free Princess Celestia from being consumed by her own Nightmare.

But who cares about that! Let's watch Vinyl Scratch judge this year's Liar of the Year awards!

The "Alternate Universe" tag for this story reflects the fact that it was written between Seasons 1 and 2.

This story is a sequel to The Perfect Little Village of Ponyville

After Vinyl Scratch helps Twilight to escape from the deadly dreams the Elements of Harmony have all been trapped in, they decide to head back to save the others, and to start with the dream world of Pinkie Pie, since she surely would be the best guide to get them through the dreams of anypony.

In retrospect, two ponies treading alone into the mind of the pony with Pinkamena in her head might have been a less than wise decision...

Sequel to "The Perfect Little Village of Ponyville" (which the above description just spoiled utterly if you haven't read it yet). Additional tags may be added after the story spoils them.

Vinyl Scratch wakes up to find herself the personal student of Princess Celestia, sent to the obscure village of Ponyville to oversee preparations for the millennial Summer Sun Celebration.

Vinyl can only imagine two possible explanations for what has happened: she has tumbled into an alternate universe where she's Twilight Sparkle, or, after everypony telling her she'd do it eventually, she's finally gone and lost her mind.

Alternate Universe tag is obvious. Missing though, is the Drama tag (oh wait, they have that now--fixed!), and the "She's Finally Gone and Lost Her Mind" tag, which may be substituted by a CrazyPinkie emoticon.

The royal court of Canterlot welcomes its newest member with open forelegs: the human philosopher Voltaire, from Earth.

On Earth, Voltaire is known as the greatest enemy of tyranny in the history of literature, and a legend in his own mind.

On Equestria, the court betting pool is giving him a week before the Princess banishes him to the Moon.

Note: This story doesn't have sequels per se, but there are a couple of short follow-ups set in the present day ("Parade Coverage" and "Secret Histories"), and a prequel of sorts in "At the Inn of the Prancing Pony".

Neither legal counsel nor a jury will be provided. The judgment resulting from this inquiry cannot be overruled, and the records of its proceedings will remain sealed in secrecy for a period of not more than one hundred years."

Little did the Princesses realize, however what secrets this inquiry would actually reveal...

The Crossover tag in this story is obviously referring to Doctor Who. The Alternate Universe tag refers to the fact that this was written during Season 1 of Friendship Is Magic.
